55 years ago today was our wedding. I asked my DH this morning if he would do it all again. He wanted to know if he was past the return policy deadline... (true story. But I am laughing!)

Haha, mine painted over a leaf in my Florida house. It's behind a bed.

Neighbors of brief duration were reassigned. The husband painted the woodwork and baseboards before listing their house. When the new owners moved in they discovered that he hadn't painted anywhere that furniture had been up against the walls -- sofa, breakfront, beds, etc. You might think, "Who does this?" (Not if you'd known the man!)

In one of my former houses, I had the living room professionally painted. Until I moved, I didn’t realize that they didn’t paint behind the large (but moveable) floor screen.

What I hate is when they paint over hinges instead of removing doors and hinges before painting. On Sell This House, they often do not even remove switch plates and outlet plates, and those are extremely easy to take off.

I agree, @Lars. The interior of the house I flipped during 2020 had been painted with a sprayer. Everything was covered including outlets, switches and switchplates, hinges, etc. It was dreadful.

I generally replace switch plates and outlet covers when I paint a room, but I tape off door hinges, if the doors are too heavy for me to remove easily. I always remove door knobs and often replace those as well, as that is easier to do than replacing door hinges.

For cabinet doors, I do remove the door hinges.
