Decor above large sectional
Comments (11)Come on PROs, you should know better than to recommend factory made art when there is plenty of art out there by real artists often for the same price. $99 at Homegoods? Spend that amount or less at Society 6 and support real artists making real work. Reposting again; Please please please do NOT buy art from big box stores! ONLY buy art from a place where the artist's name is listed. Get art from places that benefit the artists themselves (so not a mass produced place like homegoods or any big store) the following sites have work from real artists but with affordable options. You probably can find real art by real artists for less than you would get from those mass produced factory art places like pier 1. It doesn't have to be the original painting. Many artists sell prints of their own work for crazy reasonable prices. Don't be intimidated. You can get nice work from an artist for under 100, 200, 300, etc. Sometimes it's more, but these sites all tend to have affordable options. And you can often search by price, color, or theme. Loved your trip to Switzerland? You can find paintings of the alps. Avid bird watcher? Find photos or prints or your favorite woodpecker. Love the serene ocean? Tons of seascapes out there. Bad impersonal factory art can cost the same as real art from the artists themselves, so why not spend your money on real meaningful art? try: etsy https://www.etsy.com 20x200 https://20x200.com Saatchi https://www.saatchiart.com society6 https://society6.com red bubble https://www.redbubble.com risdworks http://risdworks.com scad art sales http://www.scadartsales.com inaluxe https://www.inaluxe.com eyestorm http://www.eyestorm.com lumas https://www.lumas.com pure photo http://www.purephoto.com these fine walls http://www.thesefinewalls.com captured 52 http://www.captured52.com artfully walls https://www.artfullywalls.com tappan collective https://www.tappancollective.com mammoth and co https://mammoth.co citizen atelier https://www.citizenatelier.com minted https://www.minted.com/art?it_category=n_fineart&it_id=L2fineart McGee and co https://www.mcgeeandco.com/collections/artwork little paper planes http://www.littlepaperplanes.com sugarlift (curator works with you) https://www.sugarlift.com Ugallery https://m.ugallery.com serena and lily http://www.serenaandlily.com/art/ Ps some stores like WEst Elm do work with artists to sell their work. Comments (2)Agree with Patricia. A gallery will overwhelm this space. Save your special picture to place where you will see it more and appreciate it, and find something fun for that wall, that is large scale. Not sure what your taste is, it's hard to tell with this photo. We can give suggestions if you give us a sense of your style preferences...modern, farmhouse, traditional, etc. I'd be more likely to center the couch to the wall, add some pretty drapes, and place the TV on a bureau with drawers, so guests can have a spot to put personal belongings away. Then you can add some very small end tables so they'll have a spot to rest a drink, or charge their phone, bedside. This is my guest room, with pullout queen bed. also VERY small, and doubles as a home office, so I've creatively used a file cabinet as one end table, and a small stool is re-purposed as an end table on the other side. I have a small, wall mounted television in the upper right corner of the room, just out of frame. If you give us a sense of your style, we can recommend specific pieces, etc. Right now you have a bright and pretty blank slate and neutral couch to work with!...See MoreHelp! Comments (29)What does the 4th wall in your room look like? Is it possible to rearrange things? Give it a quarter turn so that it is no longer in front of the windows. In other words, one section on the back wall and the other section would be where the TV / console currently set. The TV could then be on that (unseen) 4th wall. I also think the TV is mounted too high....See MoreArt sizing above sectional
Comments (4)Thanks to both. The room is just now being sheetrocked and sectional won’t be here until July. I like the 2/3 rule of thumb and even if I can’t get the full effect, I will mask it out this weekend when the workers are gone. We are very much social distancing through this project. We don’t go down during the week, and trades come and go through the basement sliders....See MoreMaureen
