Exterior Paint Design Dilemma

What shade of white for exterior paint?

We are renovating/updating a 100 year old Tudor in Denver. The brick was painted years ago. So we will be repainting the brick a shade of white, using the same white shade on the stucco and will have grey trim Tudor detail. I don’t want a bright white. Any suggestions for a shade of white that isn’t bright but isn’t too yellow?

Something like BM Classic Gray would seem more appropriate for a Tudor style.

I wouldn't paint that brick. Lime wash is (mostly) for unfortunately colored brick. Yours already has a similar lime wash look and it has a really good colorway. Get a designer to suggest some new ideas for the trim/shutter/door color. Try taking off the shutters to see if that helps give an updated look/feel.

Where is the house???? OMG Gorgeous house. That house has a European/ maybe Hollywood Regency design and I would not do white and navy. That's just my opinion. Don't rush. This all costs a lot of money and you need to do this right. Those slender columns are appropriate to the style of your home. Boxing them in is a big mistake IMO. You're taking a delicate detail on this house and 'fixing' it with a sledgehammer. I can understand not liking the scalloped trim but I'm sure that can be replaced with something more streamlined. I would consider adding some decorative embellishment to the columns Also, I would not use a BM or SW paint on that lovely house. It's impossible to be sure just from a picture, but it looks to me like your cabinets, counter, etc. are well-made and were probably expensive when they were installed. Doing a quick patch job of redecorating by painting and putting peel and stick tiles over the backsplash is going to give you a lighter kitchen, but it will turn it into a cheap-looking kitchen in the process. Of course it's up to you what you can tolerate. If this were my kitchen, my choice would be to stick with a high-quality look that's out of style (especially since it's fairly neutral) until I could get a firm vision of what I wanted to do AND make sure I had the budget to do it right.

I just completed white washing my fireplace with milk paint. The only wood I had was the fireplace mantel with fireplace running to the 8 foot ceiling. The fireplace was as you described (colors). I was very pleased with the outcome. The milk paint can be added, adjusting the water ratio to the milk paint until you are pleased with the outcome. My fireplace took on a whole new dimension. I have very little natural light in my livingroom and used Ben Moore Swiss Coffee and white paint for ceiling. The combo brightened up the area tremendously.

Do not use acrylic paint on brick. Use some brand of masonry paint so the paint job doesn't fail.

The colors you select should complement the roof color.

Whites come in a spectum of "undertones" such as blue, yellow, gray, green - even pink and violet. So do grays - so you need to choose colors that have the same undertone. If you have chosen your gray, take that to the paint store and use it to narrow down the choices (most stores will have their whites - and usually all colors - organized by the undertone).

And yes, they both need to coordinate with the roofing material.

It’s really hard to say without seeing pictures because your roof and other elements are important when choosing colors. That being said, Oyster White is beautiful outside and these are some deeper grays/neutrals that look lovely with it:
