What color should we paint our house?

Just purchased this home. It was built in 1980, supposedly from the cedar trees on the property. It is currently stained, but has not been maintained. So many A-frames houses are brown in our area, I am thinking either greens or reds.

Comments (16)The dilemma you have is how to stay somewhat true to the style of the exterior of the home, while finding your happy place with Nordic look. With your brick, I think some form of blue with white trim would achieve that sweet spot. This is a blue/gray with close to your brick. this is a good combination. They used black on the windows which I think looks very classic. By keeping the exterior to two paint colors you will minimize the "Gingerbread" look. That is the trick here. Comments (3)IMO blue/ grays are hard to work with if i have a client that has to paint before a house is completed i highly reccomend a pale grayed green it is much more neutral than gray and seems to work with everything. The shingles will also be replaced soon. We want an earthy neutral tone in keeping with our wooded lot and are leaning toward greiges and sages. 8 months agoI like all of these SW colors, especially Rosemary or Dried Thyme
but the style would also look great in SW Urbane Bronze or SW Polished Mahogany
