Here's my deer. He sits on my living room hearth most of the time, but on our dining room table, as well. Brass. Heavy. 20-inches long. 20-inches tall. Most likely from India. I saw his twin on EBay last year. The seller had it priced at $500. As much as I love mine, I don't think he's worth $500!

groveraxle, Thanks for the photoshops. That actually has me back to considering the light grey concrete one the most as it seems to match the overall asthetic better than others I am considering. May not be as thin as what I would prefer but the singlular central base feels like a good compromise.

We have a RH DR table and I really like it. It has a simple design and a really cool leaf that folds under the table. Ours seats about 6 but they make this model in longer lengths, see link below. I really like it BUT the big (bad) surprise is that the wood is unfinished. Completely unfinished, meaning if you splash a little oil & vinegar dressing on the table it would stain, because the wood is naturally porous and thirsty. We did some research and then I applied a suggested matte varnish. I regret this and wish I had put on a low-luster oil finish instead. Glass would also work and one can easily get glass to fit almost any rectangular shape ( GlassTopsDirect.com, for example). If you want details about the finish please respond. This particular table has really nice reclaimed wood with interesting dings, nailholes and such. The finish we have is named "salvaged natural" & it's the 96" version. My wife doesn't like table because there's gaps in the reclaimed wood, but my feeling is that one can vacuum the stuff in the cracks every so often. Would suggest that you visit a RH showroom, if possible and look, touch and analyze the wood and table? I agree with the above to not paint them. And "brown" furniture is trending again. :) I like your seat covers. I think it feels heavy to you because every piece in the room is formal. Maybe mix in a more contemporary chandelier, a mirror or abstract art instead of the large painting over your buffet, and a different rug. You can find real turkish rugs on etsy for a very reasonable price. Or a seagrass would look nice too. (Seagrass can be cleaned with water/liquid products, stay away from jute and sisal in the dining groom.) Simplify the sconces and centerpiece, and have nothing on the table or else a simple something in the center--no dishes or tablecloth. This room is similar to yours. Real rug with contrasting orangey colors, living flowers, mirror. This one has antique but simplified lighting, one simple centerpiece, mirror.
