Not sure I killed it, but the canes are dead to the ground (scaped and they are brown and dead), but the roots are white and moist and look alive. I can't tell if it's grafted or own root. It isn't About Face I dont think--my rose is quite large, clearly a hybrid tea and not a floribunda. I don't think it's the other suggestions here either as the petals are very straight--they don't curl back as they open and the suggestions do. Wonder if I will ever be able to replace!!

I'm nearly positive it is a polyantha. At one time I had many of them, The flower is semi double but many singles at the end of the year, No sent, shiny foliage a mix of larger leaves and small. The color is variable from this lighter pink to much darker but always has some cream in the center. The flower matches La Marne perfectly but I'm not seeing any smaller leaves mixed in with the larger leaves on help me find. She grows up but very full so that you can not see the ground underneath.

Sorry, Lindsey, I don't know either.. had a bit of a trawl through loads of Pernetiana pix, and couldn't see any that looked much like your rose - the relatively low petal count and slight frilliness... could it be a more modern rose? As there hasn't been much response, it might help if you could give us some more information to go on - once only or repeated flowering, scent description if any, any clues you have re when it may have been originally planted, your approximate location, height and width of the whole plant, size of fully-opened flowers, does it blackspot and/or mildew much; PLUS a few more photos showing close ups of the canes and thorns, colour of new foliage, a full leaf set, flowers at different stages from tight bud through to over-blown, hips if any (probably too early for that, but if you can remember from last year?), and one of the whole plant, from a bit further away, to get an idea of its habit. Maybe all that will ring a bell for someone. Comtesse :¬)

@Kimi Calif. Bay Area 9b I found guides like this helpful in learning what I like or don't like in roses, and how to describe them. It's helpful to search for the terms you like in google/hmf to find additional varieties, or even just for the filters on more advanced rose sellers (rogue valley or heirloom come to mind). My personal favorite are cupped/globular very full roses that are pastel colors
