PLEASE Decorating Help needed asap!!
I don’t know what kind of prints or art to put above my dresser or if I even should put anything above it, I don’t want it to distract from the butterfly above my bed but I want something to fill the space in a classy and simple way. I have 3 16x20 frames that I am going to put horizontally above my tv but I don’t know what kind of art to fill the frames with because I don’t want it to be to distracting (excuse my bed I don’t have the right mattress on it yet and the there are going to be 3 big white pillows that go behind the pink ones) I also attached a picture of the butterfly that’s above the bed because my camera doesn’t pick up the color well. Any suggestions at all about any of the room would be so awesome!!

Comments (16)I always love a small, classic hex tile. It is beautiful, timeless, and can look contemporary depending on the color. I think it looks great in a narrow space too. I agree with your contractor that herringbone is too busy for that narrow of a space. You room may be 4 feet but it looks like with the counter depth, the floor space will be narrower than 4. This summer we stayed in a vacation rental that had a beautiful, subtle, marble basket weave tile in the bathroom and it just looked all kinds of wrong because it was too busy for the small space. I think the same with herringbone in your space. We did our narrow bath in hex tiles and it looks fabulous. We always get comments on it. I would pick up some samples and give it a try. Comments (7)You need to make that decision in your room with your light. What we see on our computer monitors may not look anything like what you see in real life. In fact the floor looks like a different color in your two photos, which should prove to you that it's impossible for anyone to pick the color for you long-distance on a website. What you could do is paint the walls the same white color as the trim. Also, are you painting before you install the new floor? Comments (9)It is honestly my fault for not realizing that I was getting double crown (crown at cabinet and at ceiling), although I wasn't told there would be 3" bulkhead extending past the cabinet crown. Apparently, that how they do the double crown. Right now, the bulkhead is framed, no cabinets so its not like you can see the bulkhead extending past. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of something like or could tell me what I want instead, lol. The cabinet crown molding is in with the cabinets I guess from the manufacturer, and if I want a different molding I would have to reorder from the cab manuf, have him redo the framing, etc. I just don't know what I want! And yes, I need the bulkhead because of venting or something, but I also wanted a way to extend the cabs up to the ceiling. The framing for the bulkhead is 10" tall and 30" depth above my counter depth area (for pantry and fridge) and like 18" above the regular uppers and vent hood....See More

In fact...... together, those colors are a palette that can come off as bit "home store"/less expensive than other combinations. But again, color is personal. If the butterfly speaks to you ..... it speaks!
I think eliminating the turquoise chair, and pulling in more of the blush tones would elevate the space, look richer. But that's me and my opinion.
A blush quilt folded foot of the bed would give it an ending point , more interest.....
The butterfly? Other things seem richer or softer, or even more grown up..... but again, not my room

7 months agoIt seems you don't necessarily need anything around your TV. We think your bedroom seems to work well so far. Maybe try adding a few more pillows on the bed, but otherwise we think what you have seems to work. Notice how in our bedroom designs, included here, there is usually one piece of artwork above the bed. Then notice how our living room TV's are not outlined with pieces of art. Hopefully these images will help you with your dilemma.
