The poly wood will be so much easier to maintain. We’ve had some for years, outside full time and they still look like the did the day we got them. Unless you need to store them, there is no need to pay extra for folding styles.

The Adirondack chairs are miserable for people with arthritis or any other problems. I'd look for more comfortable seating if possible, to add to those chairs. I am not a fan of the upholstered cushions at all. I don't need something else to take care of, thank you very much.

I have seen photos of your patio and I love the idea of storage end tables. That is very smart.

Our little dining set is a cheapie from Home Depot from years ago that has stood up well. It's a little dirty but overall is comfortable and very useable.

I had my eye on this Home Depot little patio set earlier in the year. It was comfortable to sit in and inexpensive, under $500. I thought it was sold out but a friend found it in a north suburb.

We have some older patio furniture that was cast iron and good quality but it got rusty and I frankly hated it from the start. Ugh. I will make a decision soon!

@MilwaukeeHCMom - Our wicker came from HD years ago - we did store indoors during the winter. Cushions stay in the end tables, bagged Understand disappointment with cast iron - heavy and gets dingy. Don’t have the same issue with cast aluminum and it stays outside year around. Many fall closeout sales begin late August. Good luck with your choices.

Both are very different looks.

Cushions drive me nuts. Having to keep putting them in and out is very annoying.

We have several poly pieces. 4 Adirondack chairs, 2 side tables and a cup holder for each chair from Forever Amish Poly around our fire pit. We have 2 Adirondack chairs with pull out ottomans from Forever Amish Poly on our patio, a counter height table and 2 counter height adirondack chairs on our screened in porch from Polywood, and a bench from Polywood on our side front porch. We live in a log cabin so it works well. They are easy to care for and have held up well. No fading or staining. We keep all of it out all year. We only took them in once when there was possibility of a hurricane coming through. That's when them being able to fold came in real handy.

I had thought I had missed the patio furniture season when Home Depot and Menarrds started to have less selection, but I might be able to wait until after our August travel is finished to buy something on a better sale. The weather has been pretty good for sitting outside lately. I was hoping that the furniture store would have a better discount on the folding Adirondacks. They were comfortable to me. I would likee to get my spouse to sit in all of these but he's not as into the shopping and planning as I am. I seem to spend more time out on the patio overall.

Also there is a furniture store close to home that has polywood and I might go test drive their specific chairs there. There is also a Yardbird store in my area but I think they might be too pricey and too much for what I'm looking for.

Went back to the garden store to see all the cushion sets and the blue with the tile table is by far the most comfortable. I also looked at Polywood and a cheaper knock of of Polywood at a local furniture store. I am leaning toward buying the blue one tonight. Yay. I am going to just see if my spouse wants to go for a sit test.

The only drawback I see is that the bench has one LARGE base cushion that will need a large storage box.

I am on Cape Cod. Many experiences with out door furniture. No fabric, unless it is a indoor outdoor fabric, but decorative pillows only. Polywood is a good choice. But, have you seen, sat in Ikea's chair? I have 6, my daughter has twelve. There is a tiny hole in the seat so water drains off. Very, very comfy. $99.00 a piece. This year's colors are white, blue, and orange. And are stackable for storage. Take a look at the photos.

Thanks! I did see an earlier post about the Ikea chairs. They are cool but not quite the style I am looking for. I ended up buying the blue set tonight. Hauled it home in the minivan and am sitting on it now. Yay. I will post some photos tomorrow although the patio is weedy and I don't have any accessories or accent pillows or anything yet. There is room on the patio if I want to add more furniture or a pair of Adirondacks later. For now this is good. I saw some inexpensive patio furniture covers and cushion storage bags (not boxes) on Amazon, too. The big cushion storage boxes get expensive. I got a free plastic bag with the cushions so tonight I will put them in the garage. It is a lovely evening to sit outside tonight!

Here is the collage I was working on today. The blue is just a touch brighter than our house siding. The gray tile on the table goes with the old gray dining set and there is some brown in the frames and wicker so I can use brown too.

I have some little iron tables that I can clean up and re-use for now. I am also working on a small front porch refresh with a new rug and some tidying up.

I spent last night worrying whether cushions were the right choice or not. But it will be fine. I might even go get a pair of polywood chairs eventually to put in with the cushion set. Amazon has inexpensive storage bags and inexpensive furniture covers. Today it is going to rain, I am storing the cushions in the back of my van for now. I started looking at accessories and my husband said -- more pillows? Don't get pillows, you don't need pillows. LOL. He is very anti-pillow. I will not go overboard.

We have two Adirondack chairs from Costco. We love them, easy to store in the snow by stacking. The arms are wide enough for a cup of coffee.
