River blue granite with white subway tile for backsplash. We are having trouble deciding a paint color for cabinets

We’re going to need a lot more context in order to help. Some photos of the surrounding area, and what furniture and fixed items are you keeping? Is the current wall color staying? Are you thinking about a white or a color?

First of all, you already have a backsplash....the 4 inch piece of granite you have is it. Either remove that or delete doing subway because you don't do both.

Is current flooring staying?

This is a home that we are remodeling and plan to rent Yes, the flooring was just put down. The area between the granite and cabinets is coming down-it is beadboard paneling and will be replaced with sheetrock. The walls will be painted in sea salt by Sherwin Williams. We are trying to decide on cabinet paint color . Thank you for your reply

If you like Sea Salt, but want a color that leans more toward blue, check out Rainwashed. Rainwashed and Sea Salt are very similar, except that Rainwashed leans blue with a hint of green and Sea Salt leans green with a hint of blue.

And remember, no tile backsplash since you already have the 4" granite backsplash. You don't do both.

There are probably at least half a dozen colors that would work. Because all slabs of counter material are slightly different it is difficult for commenters to give you specific recommendations. You'll have to look at a dozen or more paint chips, then narrow those down to a couple and get larger samples of them. Look at them at all times of the day and on multiple walls. One or two should look right. Finally, paint one cabinet door as a sample before moving forward if you want to be sure. The type of finish will influence how the color is perceived. Since it's a rental you may not want to take this much time with it, but you have gone to the trouble of installing a nice countertop, so it might be time well spent. I hope you were not planning on just slapping some wall paint on the cabinets - there is a lengthy process for painting cabinets that you will want to follow in order to get a result that will last. Finally, be open to changing the wall color if it ends up not looking right with the cabinets.

I would simply leave and repaint the paneling on your walls sea salt and LEAVE THEM. You didn’t remove the paneling before the cabinets were installed; the paneling is the back of the cabinets, no? At most I would totally remove the piece of paneling behind where the stove will go, and tile that. But leave the paneling alone. I really like the way it looks with the countertops and short backsplash. It will be difficult to remove just that portion between the cabinets and the backsplash. Why wasn’t this done first it if it was your intention to remove it? Again…paint the paneling sea salt.
