Cross vine (bignonia capreolata), evergreen in zone 6b?
Comments (4)I'm in 6b and my Crossvine usually keeps it's leaves over the winter but they look kind of sick. They kind of shrivel a little too so it isn't realy evergreen. Then in Spring it regrows new nice looking leaves so if you need good cover all year it probably isn't the vine to choose. On the other hand when it blooms in the Spring it is spectacular and attracts hummingbirds!...See MoreFlowering vines for zone 9b
Comments (0)Hi there - I am visiting my mom in Vero Beach, FL and we are looking for recommendations for a climber that is a reliable bloomer for zone 9b. Not bougainvillea. The area is east facing so it only gets sunlight first half of day (through noon-1:00ish). Is Jasmine any good? She has a Jasmine vine on a north-facing wall right now that doesn't bloom a lot but is still alive and well in bright shade. Any suggestions and experience would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help!...See MoreI think it's a vine (SW Houston - zone 9b)
Comments (10)Javi, my deepest sympathies that your vine didn't turn out to be some exotic, mouth watering passiflora or something. I know th t's what you were hoping for, but you have to move to South Carolina, if you want your hearts desires magically popping up in your yard haha! No cucurbit would be welcome here either ,save my Gynostemma pentaphyllums, my life extention, race horse vines. This is my latest host plant conundrum. I want to avoid feeling guilty for not growing Pentas which are the host plant of the Tersa Spinx Moth so I've found an another suitable hostplant which is our native buttonweed Spermacoce glabra. As usual of course, Spermacoce seeds and plants are unavailable, but I've found a source, in SC lol! IMO they kind of look like white flowering Pentas with this tubular Dischidia thing going on, gorgeous!...See MoreZone 9b California Evergreen Shrub Recommendations For Fence line?
Comments (46)https://homeguides.sfgate.com/landscape-italian-cypress-43140.html Plant Italian cypress trees instead of installing a privacy fence. The plants can be planted as close as 2 to 3 feet apart to form a privacy barrier. They don’t take up much more space than a wooden fence and make a much more attractive natural barrier....See Morewestes Zone 9b California SF Bay
