Hoping someone with more knowledge than me can ID what type of shrubs these are and if I can save them?

As you can see there is portions of them with no leaves / dead. Is there a way I can get these back to life or are they dead in those areas and its best to just remove them? I have about 14 of them around the front of the house between the two types.

This one is the worst. None of them have every leaf dead....so is there something I can do to bring them back to life?
