We ordered some sample doors from Barker doors to see the colors. One was Sherwin Williams Pure White and the other Dover White. They were both really great. The paint chip for the Pure White looked really gray but it's not gray at all when painted. BUT this could be because they use a catalyzed varnish [I think that's what it's called]. I'm not sure if paint looks different based on the type of paint that is used. We ended up using the Sherwin Williams Pure White and I love it. It's a very warm white, no gray/blue undertones, at least in our space.

I have ordered custom cabinets that will be painted in BM Oxford white. We are thinking of painting the walls in BM white dove. Will the two colors go together? Yes, they go together for two reasons. White Dove belongs to the Yellow hue family and Oxford belongs to the Green-Yellow hue family; they're far enough apart in terms of hue but not too close together. Secondly, there's enough difference in Chroma between the two that one won't make the other look dirty or dingy. White Dove will actually make Oxford White look cleaner, crisper and more white. If this works should we also paint the trim in oxford white? Trim, doors, cabinets should all be the same color of white. You should wait for your cabinets and then have your trim/door product color matched to whatever version of Oxford White they turn out to be. Because the cabinet maker is probably color matching to Oxford White best he can in whatever product he's using. It's unlikely your cabinets will match an Oxford White paint chip spot-on.

You can’t go wrong with either Simply White or White Dove for kitchen cabinets. Both look great with dark countertops and gold accents. I had no idea those two were so close.😮 My question would be how spot on is Barker's version of SW Dover White to a chip/sample. If it aligns to Acadia as much as the original SW Dover White, then it would be really challenging to see a difference. Especially after a few weeks when your brain's color constancy adaptation kicks in.
