1943 cottage with aluminum siding

My cottage has aluminum siding - at least 30 yrs. old, probably more. We are adding on a mudroom/laundry room/pantry off the kitchen which will square off that side of the house by filling in a notched-out "L" that currently exists. The new space will be about 15' x 8' in a rectangular shape. The question is what should be used to finish the outside of the new portion? It will butt up to existing white (but aged) aluminum siding on both of the newly created exterior walls. Even if we could match the existing siding, there will be an obvious difference between the new and the old which will then mandate painting the whole house. Any ideas about what would look good and not be overly costly? Thanks!
