Help identifying/finding tile!
Comments (4)The walls could be onyx mosaic, but you are looking for the vanity tile... It looks like a clay tile --maybe Saltillo? I'm not sure how that'd hold up on a vanity. (I am just not sure--have no idea). It is used a lot in Mexican/SW inspired kitchens on the floor though... It is just too porous, I would think, for a bathroom. So maybe you need to look for a saltillo-look ceramic? Here is a link that might be useful: about saltillo...See MoreCan someone identify this tile?
Comments (20)Debbie, I think these ARE the stones that are in that picture of the pool on the top of the thread. But I also think that when they are dry, they look a bit washed out and more blue than warm golden. In that first picture of the pool and spa, the dry tiles at the top right look just like my sample does when it is dry. The wet pix "warm" up the stone colors quite a bit. Unfortunately, we were going to put the tile up about 15" above the water level so I don't think it will look right. Too bad. The pictures I posted of the sample by the way are very accurate of the actual colors of the sample I received. I shot the pix in RAW in shade and adjusted the white balance to make them look exactly like the real samples. So what you see is what you get! Still love the tile. And the weathered look is great. But I want more oranges and yellows.... We are now looking at a quartzite called sakeye red instead. Katherine...See MoreTile mavens: help me identify/find this tile? (pic)
Comments (2)I'm no tile genius, but that is great tile! Are there any markings on the back of the tile? Do you have any idea what they are made of? Do you know where the construction job was? I would call either the contractor, builder or owners and ask them about the tile....See MoreI am looking for help identifying what is wrong with these two roses.
Comments (9)Hi Sheila, Thank you! I decided to overwinter with lights because they were so small when they arrived, in the past I have lost 50% of the small roses I planted in pots over the winter here. I did propagate 3 roses last fall (took cuttings September 1st) and overwintered in the mud room with lights, they were huge by the time I could plant end of April. I'm hoping to give these guys a chance to develop good root systems before planting in spring due to our shorter growing season. :) Hi Paul, Thank you also! I will look those up. I was wondering if it was still mildew hanging about, but won't treat it for that now. The first photo is supposed to be Ellen Tofflemire, so looking forward to the first bloom! Nola...See Morehhireno
