Bedroom wall dilemma
Hello:Houzz friends.I recently changed out my old wooden bed frame for a fabric Headboard and frame which is not exactly the colour I had envisioned in the store (more taupe than grey).I want to put a feature wall behind to help with the rooms overall look and I am leaning towards wallpaper.
Any suggestions what pattern I should lean towards as there is so much choice out there?Should I keep it
it simple or go bold and making it “pop” type look with the paper.
Any other suggestion what I can do with the wall behind the bed please share.Lots of light come in the room as we have garden doors on the right side of the room.Thanks❤️🤞

Comments (14)Keep playing with drawing til something makes sense. I tried to sketch something out, let's see if I can attach it. Did you want to add a tub, or just a bigger shower? If windows can be added to the left wall, it would really add more possibilities! I made the bigger closet skinny so the window light still comes in. This loses the hall closets so it may need more work. I am not a big fan of the hall between the closets, it was my attempt to keep the window. Either of the closets where the master was could be removed to be a sitting area or a desk area. Obviously I am not a professional. I just like looking at and thinking about floor plans. I am sure others will jump in to improve my sketch by criticizing it lol. I left the toilet and one sink in place. I think the shower could use the same drain and it would not be too bad to extend the pipes to make it bigger, and add the second sink. Comments (4)You may want to start saving inspiration rooms you love; it will really help if you have a direction. I would purchase the rug fist vs bedding and cushions so you have a style to build on. Be sure to use various colors, patterns and textures so it feels more interesting The headboard is high and I think art above each night stand would be more complimentary and use small brass lamps for a modern look. 11 months agoSelect your bed linens & window treatments. The wall may not need more emphasis if you select the right linens.
IMO wallpaper combined with the upholstered headboard might be too much overall.

11 months agoI would consider two small framed pieces. They are inexpensive to download, and can be easily swapped out when you want to change the mood or accent colors in the room.

11 months agoIf you opt for wallpaper, this is a beauty. It comes in only one size, though. 9 ft high x 12 ft wide.

It is overwhelming choosing one; I’d just look for as many inspiration pictures as you can find … see what styles/colors/patterns/etc you’re most drawn to and imparts the feel you’re going for.
I’m not suggesting any of the ones below specifically, just showing some styles with sort of similar headboards.
You have a blank slate and could use just about anything. If you decide you want to do paper, choose it first and work the room around it.
Tons of possibilities! You could do grasscloth, too, if you don’t see a pattern you love, but would like texture.ETA: Don’t be afraid to mix patterns for a layered look if you’d like — you don’t necessarily have to use solid bedding if doing a patterned paper.

11 months agolast modified: 11 months agoGrasscloth allows for a wider range of choices for bedding and accessories and you’ll never tire of. Consider faux if budget is a concern and is also easier to apply.
If adding patterned paper, bedding choice is important in regards to creating a connection/not overwhelming.

11 months agoThis picture shows last years project and how we have evolved to the current dilemma and why I think I need to do something with the wall.This is my closet that is on the other side of room .I am going to go to a paper store today and pour over books to see if I fall in love with something and then bring them home to try.🤞👌
