We actually haven't decided yet. It's been suggested I do beige windows to match roof overhang but I dont know that I like the look of beige windows. Any suggestions there would be helpful. I'm a new Houzz user

Yes to painting the shed to match your house. But do not highlight the white trim. ALL one color. And remove any “cute” embellishments. Your home is modern. The shed shouldn’t look “country.” And Yes to NO Shutters. Finally…trim up the tree but leave it there. Before you sell, ream out any drain lines that might be compromised. (And certify that they are “clear” for the buyer.). Let the buyer decide about the future of the tree…which is NOT that close to the house. Focus on simple basic landscaping in the front and along the walk. Nothing extreme. Again…let the buyer do that. Maybe a pot on the front porch planted with annuals. Mulch with brown mulch, not strange color OR stone. Leave future decisions to the buyer.

You can also hire a qualified and experienced landscape designer for either an onsite consultation or to develop a planting plan that you can DIY at your convenience. This is a very affordable option, rarely costing more than a couple hundred bucks and should be considered an investment in your property rather than just an expense as it will save you the expense of trial and error plantings and can increase property values. Online design sources tend to be expensive for the value provided and judging by the amount of negative feedback they receive in this forum, are rarely very successful or well received.

I live in the country and bought a house with a looooooooong dirt and gravel driveway. The house had not been lived in for a while, so in addition to a new roof, I budgeted tens of thousands to re-grade and re-gravel and put newn confines on the driveway (since blacktop would be totally wrong for the neighborhood and the house). Since it was impossible to do that work before winter set in, I ended up living with the old gravel driveway for months. I am never going to spend the money I planned to spend. Instead, my local lawn service tidies up the driveway each spring -- which was actually his advice to me when I first approached him to do the job. He said he would but he warned me it won't last. Just make it part of spring cleaning. I think your porch columns need to be white to show off the charm of the house, and likewise all the front bushes need to be removed or cut practically down to the ground. You definitely want to show off the welcoming openess of the porch. Take away the shutters and re-think the front walk. What is the most used approach to the house and put the walk there, and light it. Doors with oval insets have always been popular on houses like yours. If you like it, keep it. If not, you are not being ahistoric. A lot of these houses were built and sold with an oval inset door on them. Is that your house address over the porch entry steps? If the town allows, put your house number prominently at the end of your driveway instead for safety.
