Air space needed around wall oven?
Comments (1)Check the installation specs for your oven - you may find clearances there - if not call the manufacturer....See MoreGas Connection behind Wall Oven Okay?
Comments (4)Thanks. It would still be accessible - there is a sliding cabinet drawer under the wall oven that can slide out and you can reach the shutoff. I was interested about if there is any code requiring distances from wall ovens for gas supply lines -there wouldn't be much space between the wall and the oven for the gas line to run, and I didn't know if that was any kind of code violation....See MoreCooktop cord behind wall oven?
Comments (5)Are we taking about a receptacle or just a place where the tie into hardwiring is taking place? In either case, it's probably not technically illegal to have to move an unrelated appliance to get to the junction, though it can be inconvenient. Most ovens don't have any restriction on wiring or other combustible materials behind them, but you should confirm that with the installation instructions. How much room the wiring is going to take up depends on whether we're talking an actual plug (which tends to be larger) or just having to route the whip from the appliance to the actual box....See MoreMy new wall oven is smaller and I need a space filler
Comments (2)Check with oven manufacturer, they might have a "trim kit" that would solve this problem. Otherwise, custom wood trimming is in order. Not an easy deal either....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
