Sizing Bamboo Roman Shades
Comments (2)I don't have the answer for you. I'd like to know too if there is a way to cut them off. The ready made ones are 6 inches too wide for my window. The length works. It just kills me to pay double for custom....See Moreblinds or roman shades-need opinions
Comments (11)Thank you newdawn. But even if they are the roller type that are flat with the "fake" fold? Yes..the drapes are somewhat formal...both being paisley, heavy fabrics, pinch pleated, but no trim, no puddles. Knowing this, would you still go with plain blinds? I'm leaning against bamboo, and more towards wood blinds or canvas roller shade. Son's room is light blue walls, cream trim, khaki/camel accents, some light sage greens...so was thinking of just going with a cream color shade in that room. Actually, that color would easily work in both and I dont want to draw too much attention to the shades...just need them for privacy. Any good sources?...See MoreRoman shade, pleated shade or blinds????
Comments (13)Not sure why the room is coming across as dark. It is hard to photograph due to shooting into the light. I do agree that the blue won't be that noticeable until you get close to the fabric but I really love the trim. I looked at hundreds of fabrics. It was so hard to find something with blue and brown that wasn't too white or cream. I am trying to warm up the room because it is very large and doesn't feel cozy at night (although the new rug is really helping with that). I did get a sample for a pleated shade from Smith and Noble that matched the trim pretty well. I like how the pleated shade would be practically invisible during the day but worry that it might be busy looking at night though when it is down. Any thoughts?...See MoreBamboo Roman shade for kitchen? Can U tell me where to purchase?
Comments (15)I also don't recommend a single bamboo shade that wide. I had the same issue while looking to cover our 74" wide dining room window. I was told the shade will probably weigh over 20lbs and the lifting cords and mechanisms will wear out pretty quick. Window Blind Outlet sells ready-made sizes up to 74" but they recommended to us that single shades shouldn't exceed 60" in width. Especially if the shade will be opened and closed frequently. Hope this helps. Your kitchen is gorgeous....See MoreDesert Design
