Given all the time we spend indoors during the winter, a visual reminder of the warmer months can be cheering. There’s something about the light, airy structure of bamboo blinds that seems to do the trick. Bamboo can bring a warm, organic feel into your rooms, and bamboo blinds work well with a range of decor styles. Here are a few examples for inspiration as you dream of warmer times to come.
1. Bohemian porch. The mixed patterns of the rug, curtains, tablecloth and garden stool pair with brightly colored chairs and string lights to create a bohemian feel on this upper-floor balcony. The bamboo blinds help the space feel more private and enclosed while still offering a view through their open weave.

2. Surf shack. Nature is the star of this outdoor room in a Hawaii surf shack, where the palette of mostly wood tones appears designed to let the foliage take center stage. The bamboo blinds here offer a bit of protection from the blinding sun.

3. Lake house. The enclosed porch of this lake house features a muted palette with pops of teal. Here, the bamboo blinds look refined and elegant against the darker wooden ceiling.

4. Sweet sun room. A burst of cheery orange, red and yellow sets a warm mood in the sunroom of this 1930s English Tudor cottage in California. The bamboo blinds are cheeky, with spots reminiscent of leopard print.

5. East Coast sun. Pale lavender walls and navy furniture set a cooler tone for this Arlington, Virginia, sunroom. But the bamboo blinds — as well as the thick gold frame on the artwork — warm the space up.

6. Coastal views. There’s not a lot that needs to be added to this magnificent view, and the decorator of this Seattle sitting area kept the colors neutral so the outdoor scene could pop. Bamboo blinds lend a natural feel that blends right into the vista without being obtrusive.

7. Surprisingly beachy. Here, bamboo blinds and wicker ottomans set off a room featuring shiplap, warm colors and a collection of red lanterns.
8. Asia-inspired. In this family room, bamboo blinds soften the light and take on an Asian feel when paired with ceramic Chinese garden stools and Far East artwork.

9. Bamboo modern. Bamboo blinds bring a natural touch to this transitional sitting area, with its flat fireplace and brown and gray palette. The rustic chandelier also softens the room.
10. Boston bamboo. Pale ochre walls, a stately chandelier and symmetrical topiaries create an elegant mood in this Boston living room. Bamboo blinds offer a semi-sheer alternative to the heaviness of the formal drapes.

11. Surf bedroom. Dark wood and what looks to be bamboo — but could be another woven natural material — pair nicely in this surf-themed bedroom in dusty teal and burnt orange. Note that the blinds echo the ceiling material.

12. Bathing spot. Keep the blinds up for the view or draw them for privacy. Either way, the bathroom in this Watch Hill, Rhode Island, farmhouse is an inviting place for a warm soak.

14. Bamboo natural. Bamboo blinds pull out the wood tones of the floor and the desk lamp, with warmth that offsets the coolness of the blue wall color and crisp white chair.

15. Like shades, like floor. In this desk niche, the blinds and floor work together to enclose the view as if they were a picture frame.

16. Tapestry effect. In this South Carolina hallway, the bamboo blinds function almost like wall tapestries, creating a pleasing vertical effect amid the horizontal lines of the shiplap.

We just moved into a new home and are looking to add blinds. We want to make sure we find something that is stylish for our tropical-inspired style home. I love the look of the warm zen bamboo blinds you showed that, like you said, filter light by not being opaque. http://www.qldblinds.com/
