Do you follow exercise videos on youtube?

I have followed a few over the years, but I've found one I really like. It's called SeniorShape Fitness. The videos are made by a lovely 45-year old woman, Lauren, and her husband who does the filming. They have made 166 videos of a wide variety and time length, so there's something for everyone. She has strength, barre, weights, balance, walking, chair, and more. She's very pleasant, and the workouts are geared for seniors--not too hard, nor too easy.

Lauren recently got a youtube award for having 100,000 subscribers. Anyone else following her videos?

I have to get back into it. I go to exercise classes twice/week.

I've done Fit with Rick cardio. He's a hotiet, and even Elliott likes watching him.

I used to but need to get back into it. Was doing barre regularly but kept getting massive cramps from my hips to my feet so I gave up on it.

Laurier, I think I can explain what you are missing. Northwest Florida is very similar to my climate and not at all like Central or South Florida which rarely has frosts or freezes. The difference is that you have your seedlings in a more controlled (warmer temperature) environment. The person producing the video is obviously letting them grow outside in pots all year around with minimal protection from the cold. This means that they will definitely go into dormancy from around Thanksgiving (or perhaps before) until March each year. In pots, they will be dormant even longer than they would in the ground. Certainly, seeedlings will bloom in less time if kept in a warmer environment with more light than our winters tend to provide. The tradeoff is in the numbers of seedlings that you can grow outside, in pots, as opposed to inside or in a temperature controlled greenhouse under lights. I hope that helps you to understand the difference in growth rates. Larger numbers with slower growth outside vs. smaller numbers inside, under lights... They appear to be giving the pod parent name with no indication of pollen parents. In my opinion, that is better than giving a pod parent name and saying it is crossed with the pollen of an unlikely cross due to insufficient controls and documention. We all have a lot to learn. I started learning hybridizing daylilies. That made it easier to understand hippeastrum. BTW, daylilies are the same in regards to dormancy in seedling years. If you can manage to keep them warm and under lights during that first year or two, they will bloom much quicker. Hope that helps... Ann

I'll check that out, Joann. Thanks. Gee, I don't like that word "elderly!" I'm a senior but don't feel "elderly."

Kathsgrdn, I've never done barre but must try it. Try something else if you get cramps, or stretch out before the workout.

I did some Hasfit, some random yoga, some Team Body Project and started running via couch to 5k when we were locked down but I go to live classes again now. Some of my older acquaintances did Leslie Sanson videos but she is rather irritating.

I've done both Leslie Sansone's walking programs as well as Adriene's yoga videos. It's good to switch around so we don't get bored.

I do! I jump around from person to person and different kinds of workouts so it doesn‘t get boring. Lately I’ve been focusing on firming up the ol’ batwings - the flabby under side of the arm. It’s working!

I did some indoor walking program, i think her name was Leslie Sansone. It was good but like all exercise programs, i gave up after awhile. I did Jane Fonda videos a long, long time ago. It got so boring doing the same thing over and over.

I follow BodyFit by Amy, Fitness with PJ (she is a little obnoxious and not for everyone, but I like the workouts), Keep the Adventure Alive with Alyssa Kuhn, and just started Forever Yoga with Susannah. I work out every morning with one or more of them. I'm trying to use heavier weights and more impact to try to help my bones. I'll be watching this thread for more ideas.

I don't, still sticking with my DVDs- but my DD is a big fan of Blogilates on YouTube (yoga/Pilates).

Jasdip posted the fit Rick video and I book marked it...just never got around to watching it. I usually watch movies while I'm on the gym machines. I just purchased "Crazy Rich Asians, & "Nobody".
