Seeking some suggestions to what style of crown molding you would call this?

It is hard to see from the pictures. It looks like Georgian or Rococo. But it looks like all the decorative finishes below have been stripped away.

I now recant my statement about machine carving. Asymmetry is a good indication that it was hand carved. Perfect symmetry means machine made. Also, the roughness around the leaves indicate hand work. The wood used for the front of the case may be different from the wood used on the side. Or not. A picture of the screw would be good to determine if the core or thread is tapered or the core is tapered and the thread is not. Are both screws an exact match? Is the screwdriver slot in the middle on each of the heads? All these things would be readly apparent if one were to see the object in person, but are difficult to discern from parceled out photographs. So far, I believe Casey's appraisal is holding up. Still a very nice piece of furniture.

Whatever the style is it certainly is something. I did mistakenly say the home was in Oconomowoc. Actually that is the location of the lister. The home is on Pine Lake in the Village of Chenequa (Hartland,WI). I am not sure what the first muraled room shown in my original post is, but I don't think it is a bathroom. It has upper cabinets on both sides of the room and the sink faucet looks like a kitchen faucet. It also looks like those might be 2 dishwashers, (painted of course) to the right of the sink. I just looked on the current lister's website and it has 48 pictures for the property, so here are some more. I promise, I won't add any more after this. I actually like this bathroom. Looks like there is a butlers pantry or scullery just off the kitchen Do you think that's the home owner playing the piano The current lister states that "Every detail was hand selected with thought and meaning behind every selection". Good to know that, I thought it was just heleter/shelter.

Thanks Patricia! Yes, I do find the interior door handles and the lighting work well together, and don’t plan on changing either. I am just looking to replace our front door handle as I don’t like the look of it and it is a deadlock style which I don’t like as it’s harder to unlock in the winter with the expansion of the wood. It’s currently a bright brass boring style and very scratched up. Just want to find something in a similar style to our interior handles that I shared the picture of. Am struggling to find something I like.

The Cargo ship house is about the closest I can find, so thanks for the tip. I don't think it's a colonial because of the front facing gable. Truth is, this was one of the many mass produced homes in the 70's that didn't really have a defined style. That said, I actually really like the simplicity of it and think it has lots of potential. There's nothing really special about it, but at the same time, there's nothing glaringly WRONG with it either. Did any of you have any thoughts on my front porch dilemma?

What difference does it make what it's called? It's not complementary to the contemporary home in which it's been installed I would remove it all.

Did someone really install a wall wart AC over the fireplace? There are better systems available for old houses (such as Unico System used by This Old House).

Looks like some major bad remodeling decisions have been made to this house?

Definitely not craftsman. Your molding looks nothing like the OP’s molding. I would just call the OP’s molding ornate and let it go at that.

I just blew up the photo; you're right, not Craftsman. :-)

It definitely has a Parisian pre-war feeling to it.
