Thanks for everyone's help. It is a rare style here where I live in PA. I'd still love to see a picture of another one if any one has one. Not as run down as mine was, I hope. I originally thought I got in way over my head when I bought the place. You would never believe it! Holes in the plaster. Some simply covered with sheets of luan and left over scraps of paneling. (I don't know where it came from, but it wasn't this house.) Although it now has four functioning bedrooms, three with closets upstairs, when I moved in it only had one. We also have a bath and a half now, but are working on making it two fulls. The downstairs bath didn't work when we moved in. The downstairs bedroom was originally a sitting room and we are carving a closet out of the storage/ washroom/ bathroom that is attached. We actually tore out a large ugly pantry that was built into the corner of the kitchen and built one into what was the doorway to the washroom. We had to put doorway into the store/wash/bathroom from the bedroom. Luckily there was one there that had been covered up. That might explain the odd door in the upstairs closet we found. Believe it or not, that thought just occurred to me. HaHa. It has a small eat in kitchen that originally had no cabinets, just a one basin sink with a rust rotted metal base. We have made a lot of progress considering we have tried to use as much recycled material as possible. It would seem easy to find, but not here! We did get lucky with a set of old farn house cabinets that were abandoned in an old school. The people stored them and then left the state. The cabinets had to go somewhere. Better my kitchen than the landfill. We had to replumb the whole house, have a new well drilled, install a water softener, and rewire everything as we go. It was a total disaster! No wonder I got it so cheap. LOL. Sometimes I think the joke was on me. But after putting so much work into this little home, it's kind of growing on me. It is changing the way I look at home ownership. I have learned that a house can teach you, too. I have a few photos, but they are on film and I don't have a scanner, but as soon as I finish the kichen drywall(hopefully sometime this weekend, I will start a new post with some pics. This has been a real job. I haven't hired anyone to do any of the work. Thank goodness for a step-dad that is a contractor and can take care of making sure we pass code, and a mom that's an engineer. They have saved me from more mistakes than you could imagine. We have a simple rule. Fix first what needs it worst.

Ha! I don't dare call my mother to tell her that I have found yet another one, and I NEED TO STOP! I truly have NO place for them, but the challenge and learning experience with each one is just what I love. And, just maybe, I'll learn something that can bring me a few dollars when I retire, although so far, I'd hate to give up any of my 'babies'. When I start tripping over them, it'll be easier to let go. :-) On the Antique form, I got 'Jacobean Revival', and I did find an image that is very close. Now that Mary Ruth has weighed in, I see another Antique Flemish chair (link below) that is also very much like it. This one that, gulp, yes, I am buying for $45, is oak. Bargain? What do you all think? The CL seller bought it to re-do, but has never gotten around to it. She is even including the fabric that she bought to re-do, which I have not seen, but she describes as 'nice, a rich looking tapestry fabric.' A friend who is in Northern Maine until Thursday AM is picking up this chair for me in our state capitol Thursday AM and bringing it to me, as he goes right through Augusta on his trip back south. Thanks Allison! I hope that didn't come across snippy. What I meant was some of the best deals I find in antique shops are those little hole in the wall - stuff piled high and under stuff, etc. You can get some good deals. Not the upscale places. I do love vintage silver and of course you can find some pricey stuff. I also find a good bit on ebay (people sometimes really don't know what they have!) and etsy (vintage). I appreciate you keeping a lookout. I'm fine with silver plated, vintage/antique would be great if I can find it for a good deal, but a new piece would be fine also. dlm200 - I'm not in a hurry, that's part of the fun - the search, finding just the right thing. That tray is GORGEOUS! $4????!!!!! The term "historical" is often more of a sales pitch for an older remodeled home rather than descriptive of its history. You should have any home you're considering buying inspected by a pro working for you and your interests (rather than the bank or realtor). IF you do purchase it, you might consider recreating front portico into a porch, extending that middle forward facing gable (leaving the curved front) and using a shed roof on one or both sides of it to create a wrap around front porch. https://www.homeplans.com/plan/3647-square-feet-3-bedroom-3-50-bathroom-2-garage-sp140938 Also, while it's still small, you might consider moving that tree farther from the house and adding a few more, if possible. You'd need to know where the utilities are buried before digging to add shade or any other purpose, so you will want to know that before you buy as well.
