More Valentine Decor ... any suggestions?
Comments (14)Thank you all for your feedback & good ideas...I appreciate....what fun! purplemoon...the hammered alum. server was a buy on a day trip many yrs ago with good women friends...got it at an antique store...but it's been stored in kitchen cupboards most of the time! Cleaning over these winter days...and thought I don't have to put "food" in it...I can decorate! Ummm...must be some influence flowing thru the air towards Iowa! sorie & DiningD...I love that winter farm print also...and those sheep called to me at a specialty store shopping day...thank U...sorie, your dog must be beautiful! And all of you, who suggested some "red" by coffee set...thank U, too...I am working on that...tried some picks I had here at home, but they looked quite Christmas-y...so I am on the look out for smaller faux berries or rose petals. luckygal & homergal...happy to hear about your buttons! they are such a pleasure to have just sitting around! I buy them at GS's & estate sales ...the jar I bought empty at a GS. I have a winter project to do yet with buttons...a cream colored pitcher & 300-400 white buttons, diff sizes..you Silconed II glue them to it...and at the neck of the pitcher, add white floral or acquarium pebbles..I saw this in a book from lib...looks ery pretty! Took me all summer & fall until I found a "pitcher" I could use for the right price! LOL! LOL! Yup, Luvs & LuckyG...I've had to :re-fill" that goblet with Kisses already! And, Jane, no food for baby doll...cause then she'd look at me like I'd HAVE to FEED her! But one of Luv's fax cookies would look cute on her tray! froufrou...I will try the baby's breath...& silk petals..thank U. I do love this buffet! It makes my dining area so much smaller & a bit tighter for the person seated on that side...but it is worth it...a lovely treasure! :-) OA...and I love using birds, thanks OA! jaybird...Thank U...tried a faux snowy pine branch on centerpc...but the needles very long & looked too big...I'll experiment some more. I did add a 4th red votive last night...found one after Christmas clearance at PierI. Last note...it is "sunny" here again...very cold...but I will be happy to send this snowy weather to anyone who wants some! Jeanne S....See MoreSuggestion for mosaic glass decorative tile???
Comments (5)JDez--thanks for the info--I looked at that site and we did like the "Bliss" mosaic-- Googled it to see if could find maybe local (DFW TX) source but nothing readily apparent-- also found another mfg on other site that seems to make the same color/blend of Anatolia's Bliss--$1 cheaper-- that is available from PA not AL--AL is closer to the FL house needing renno think I will order sheet for sample-- Looked at Cooltiles and also ModWalls--I have been there before but the color/blend link requires Flash to operate and I am using IPad--so couldn't work anything out thanks for your help-- any comments on whether or not to just ignore the flooring and not try to blend any of the brown tones into other aspects of room? Was on Houzz last night looking for wood floors/bathrooms and there are many examples where people don't pull any of that tone into what is going on in the room...some I liked and some I didn't--just like anything else you might see looking at rooms......See MoreSuggestion on decorating a damaged wall
Comments (3)Thanks for your advice. After sorting out the cause of peeling and the odor of paint in repainting I'll repaint the wall. The other side of the damaged wall is next flat, not open air. The wall is very dry without a trace of moisture. Most the time the room is air-conditioned. My suspected cause is; a) The wall was not well prepared. Before painting, the wall was smooth and nicely plastered in white colour. I didn't sand it but painted latex on top. OR b) Quality of the latex paint. I also painted the kitchen and toilet in the same way and at the same time but using waterproof latex. Up to now there is no problem, neither cracking/flaking/peeling found. Unfortunately I already dumped the tub. Neither I have recollection of its brand and quality. I'm prepared to make a test-painting to check the wall in a small area. Please advise; a) What quality of Latex to be used b) In which way I have to prepare the wall Thanks I'll buy a small tin for this purpose....See MoreNeed Suggestions For Decorative Container To Store Dog Food On Counter
Comments (15)I wouldn't want glass... i like the metal food and biscuit canisters shown above! I currently keep puppy food in a large metal popcorn container that was given to my husb during the holidays- it is cute with golden retriever puppies on it, so I decided to use it... I pour in food from 30 pound bag- probably holds about 8lbs at a time... this is a temporary thing for me tho since once the puppy food is stopped, the food is kept in large bins in the laundry room......See Morelizzierobin
