Glad you chose a colour, Robo. Are you still satisfied with your choice? We are planning on using BM Dark Linen, which is on the same card as Pale Sea Mist. In our house neither is neon. In fact, Pale Sea Mist looks dingy/muddy. Interesting how lighting, surrounding colours, and spaces impact a colour. Dark Linen looks like the palest colour one might see on a Luna Moth, and plays with shadows beautifully. We have 4 different woods/stains, 2 different types of masonry, plus all kinds of jutting walls/corners & asymmetry in our 1960’s semi-open floorplan, so paint colour has been a hard nut for us to crack. Oh, and the lighting. It’s not typical. It’s brighter on the north side than the south side, even though the light itself has a cooling effect. Anything with blue or grey in the undertone turns grey. My hubby is a sun lover, whereas I‘m an overcast gal, but even I can tell how much we need to open up the space with color.

We won't have the tile border anymore. Everything is being ripped out and redone. If I have to choose between centering chandelier above dining area or lining it up with pendants, which would you pick? One complication is that our dining table has leaves, so the size (and thus the center) changes regularly depending on my mood, number of guests, etc.

Glad to know I’m not the only one who goes down the endless rabbit hole of paint colors, my family thinks I’m absolutely crazy 😔 anyway this sounds exactly like what I just went through in my living/dining room. I tried all the same “no fail” light neutrals and none seemed to be right in that space. The only one I ever really liked was Gray Mist (BM) but when it was time for the painters to come I panicked and thought it might be a little too light so I ended up going with Olympic Mountains (which apparently is also called Fog Mist). I’m not totally in love but it is a nice neutral that I would say lands right between Classic Gray and Edgecomb Gray. Good luck and let us know what you choose!!

If you are still looking for a pink rose and can't yet find Pretty Jessica, here is an addendum to my previous suggestion of Austin's Olivia. Today I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and found that the Shakespeare Garden was planted with multiple bushes of Olivia Rose (also recommended by Austin roses as suitable for cutting, see above). This might match what you are looking for. Here it is planted with chives, backed by a pale lilac shade of Hesperis matronalis. The Hesperis looked nice, but I wouldn't suggest planting it, since Hesperis, aka 'Sweet Rocket', is considered an invasive here in the USA, but maybe Shakespeare knew it. The chives, of course, are perfect.
