brushed and broom are the same. It won't be as slippery since they are sweeping it. It's not really hotter than any other surface, in my own opinion. All concrete is hot with the sun constantly on it. Maybe a tree or two will provide shade in areas you need it most. Nothing wrong with affordable. You will love it!!!!!!

Hi I'm new hear, sorry if redundant questions-- building new pool-- problems with new acid washed concrete deck - very rough crumbling concrete on some edges and joints. Looks like the trowel was dragged over when too dry--- looks like i can grind them down smooth with wire brush--- or something like that --- ? - color is very uneven--- looks like muratic acid just poured on without good brushing--- allot of sand pebbles in some places and pure paint visible in others--- Will a concrete polisher make this more even? I don't want to acid wash again, unless very mild. - large slope in some areas--- what is the standard for decks? I have so much slope that it catches the eye--? - Color stinks--- I know, it is hard to predict--- but asked specifically to avoid pinkish colors--- used mocha colored concrete, which litened to pinkish brown. - no joint against house foundation. i was told that there is supposed to be a joint between house and concrete, but often this is not included-- comments? THANKS!

We live in Southern MD too, hilly land etc, back in October 2005 we signed a contract with Sunrise premier pools in Arnold MD to install our pool. What a nightmare, they installed the pool outside of our boundary line of our property so 900sq feet of our pool and deck was in the neighbors land, there contract was worded so that this became our responsibility and so far it has cost us over $3000 to correct that mistake thank goodness we have nice neighbors or we may have had to fill in the pool at our cost. Today we have just gotten back from our second court appearance as we decided to sue them as not only is the pool in the wrong yard but they still have not completed the final inspection on our pool. It is now over 86 weeks since the final work was completed on our pool and the inspection should have been completed. They are simply the worst company I have ever dealt with, once they received the final payment which they did on time they are reluctant to complete there side of the deal in our case. The judge initially gave them 6 weeks to close the permit today they asked for more time and we now have to wait until Feb 2008 to have the permit closed as all the court can do in this case is request that they do the right thing and close the permit. So please please please find someone else to install your pool and avoid the nightmare we are still enduring with Sunrise Premiere Pools located at 1460 Richie Hwy, Arnold, MD 21012.

We used techo bloc, blu 60, which is another concrete paver system. It does get hot but only on the days when there are no clouds at all, which at least in the boston area doesn't happen all that frequently. Our pool gets about 8 hours of direct sun in midsummer. Overall, I think the aesthetics of the concrete pavers outweighs the heat issue. We also have a salt pool and have not had any issues with the concrete pavers. I think the issue with salt is unsealed natural rock.
