Protect Quilt label on baby quilt
Comments (7)A baby quilt that gets washed a lot almost always needs an embroidered label. Printing never lasts the life of those quilts. I have printed some by hand using a sharpie permanent marker and they did pretty well. Pigma permanent doesn't last and I did washing samples of different types. So, your label should be first be printed on a scrap and then thrown in a washer a lot of times. That will tell you how it will do. Some people iron them with vinegar so you can try that. But, Teresa's right that they can be scratchy if treated and so forth. If anyone knows of a better sealing method, I'm sure they'll give us their help....See MoreLatest baby quilt is finished
Comments (7)Bev, I have a Baby Lock Tiara. It's a sit-down long-arm quilter, I guess you'd call it. I almost always quilt a meandering pattern, because it's fast (relatively) , and I just want to get it done. It's not my favorite part of making a quilt. I have done a Baptist fan pattern with a ruler, but that was really slow. I'm not a fan of heavily-quilted quilts. I think you sacrifice the cuddle factor with too much quilting....See MoreFinished a HST baby quilt!

Comments (12)Theresa, what a beautiful little quilt. It’s so simple, yet so lovely. I agree with Donna, the colors you used are perfect. And I love your quilting that makes the little squares pop....See MoreRho Dodendron
