Paint Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Vanity Color Help

We recently moved into an old farmhouse with so much wonderful character, but are also trying to find ways of brightening it up and make it feel a bit more modern (without losing its charm.) The master bathroom is a great size but the vanity, bathtub paneling and cabinet are all an orange-y wood. While we may eventually retile the entire thing, for now I think simply painting the wood, and getting a new mirror would help a lot.

For a color, should we do the same as the walls? (swiss coffee by Benjamin Moore?) or go more grey/putty color? The vanity top is a mix of light greens and beiges. (Excuse the clutter!)

" or go more grey/putty color? " Think about it--is there grey/putty in the floor or vanity top? You seem like you want to go with a pale colour--pull one out from something already in the room.

Changing the mirrors and the flooring would be more in keeping with a farmhouse theme…the wood is what makes this bath special..flooring that looks like mixed stone in odd shapes would enhance the country look as well..look at the Lowe’s website for ideas

IMO your bedroom should have decor and colors decided from your bedding and it does not have to flow with the rest of the house as it is a private space. More important the master bathroom and bedroom need to work together.I like matte finish on walls and ceilings with asatin or semi gloss trim finish either in the same color or white.I don’t love Revere Pewter with your choices I think it will just become a sea of blah that goes together but nothing interesting. I actually find a soft grayed green a much more neutral color and it gives a space a bit of life so something like the upper left colr would be my choice

Signature hardware has them. something like this you could custom paint (won't let me post a pic, but it's the unfinished oak vanity) https://www.signaturehardware.com/bathroom/bathroom-vanities/narrow-vanities/shopby/vanity_depth-8_18.html Have you thought about having them custom made? shouldn't be that difficult for a cabinet maker to do something custom for you.

With no natural light in the room, you want a wall color which will show true when the over head lights go on. Personally, I would wallpaper. As for a paint color, you can choose anything with love to go with Chantilly Lace. With its high LRV, it has almost no undertone.

Wall color or a great warm green would look great.

I think its less about the bright factor, than losing the more ordinary "suburbia" feel of the cabinets: )

Lucky you to have such a nice big bathroom in an old farmhouse! What is your preferred style, and what is the style of the rest of the house? I love the green Jan chose, it would go a long way in giving the room some character. A more rustic frame for the art, and bigger mirrors, and a natural color rug for the floor.

I suggest a greyish green that coordinates with your countertop. I show brass hardware & mirrors but black would also be very nice.
