Comments (2)I would save your money for upgrading your electrical panel, which sounds like you'll need to do anyway. Anything battery powered is unlikely to have useful light output or is going to run through batteries extremely quickly. BTW, you don't necessarily need a new circuit for hardwired lighting--you can tap into an existing one so long as it is sufficiently sized....See MoreWhere do you have wall sconces?
Comments (18)"... How many would be the next question..." And the answer is...wait for it..."it depends!" :-) Depends on so many things, beginning with the design and type of sconce: is the light throw down, up, sideways or all of the above, or none of the above. There are many, many kinds of sconces, just as with any other type of fixture. At the end of the day, one is left with a question or two: 1) Am I concerned about lighting something(s) specific, and; 2) Do I care if the fixture is visible, and/or is an "eye magnet"? The answers to these questions will tend to answer "how many?" :-)...See MoreAdvice for placement of wall sconces in stairwell
Comments (12)I hope you do have some overhead lighting, and also those sconces would have too much lower, like the picture above to really be functional. Then comes projection, you need something that is fairly flush to the wall, the staircase in the picture is wider than yours with fewer turns. You will want to look at ADA compliant sconces they often have less projection....See More2000's wall sconces have to go!
Comments (1)OH.. LOL The one that is in the center of the 3/4 can easily be made a picture light, or you can cap the electrical and put a plate over the outlet and just hang art over that spot in the wall. the other two you can do fun deco style sconces with that blend into your theme or even only use one or none, they can all be capped, not gone, but capped and you can then place art that is off-center now, centered. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Portfolio-Round-Metal-Electrical-Box-Cover/3659600?cm_mmc=shp--c--prd--lit--google--lia--183--ceilingfanaccess--3659600-_-0&store_code=1753&placeholder=null&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjJ3xj6PT6gIVEgnnCh2lgQt8EAQYAiABEgL89vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds...See Morebbstx
