Kitchen sink installed as top mount by mistake - how bad does it look?

Kj Albany
last year

I am so upset. After months of careful planning of my kitchen remodel, I walked in to find that my new kitchen sink had been installed in top mount position instead of under-mounted. Our contract indicated a "cut and polished undermount cutout." The quartz installer is saying he told me it needed to be top mounted and that I agreed - a blatant lie. He is saying he will redo it but I will have to pay for new quartz, and the project will be delayed by a week.

I feel like top mount sinks look so dated, and I was really looking forward to being able to sweep crumbs and water right off the counter into the sink.

Do I fight this? Do I pay for the quartz again? Or does this look okay? What would you do?
