I had an estimate from HD for quartz and Corian. The Quartz (LG or Silestone) was a little cheaper even if I added the cost of the sink. Is the estimate based on paying for a whole slab? i am still working on my decision but know I want a white marble look. Besides HD I found a place that sells some quartz by the sq foot. A remnant might work for us too as long as it is the right look. Do you think you'd be happy with the remnant? Unless a big difference in price or way out of your budget, I'd try to find something you will really be happy with.

Like ravencajun, I had thought I wanted to get the new Formica laminate for a kitchen facelift in early 2015. They will send you big samples free of charge. I went to Lowe's to see more and was shocked to find that with an Ogee edge, like diymom79 shows above, that I could get real stone for almost the same price. I ended up using the Fantasy Brown quartzite that raven did, also.

G G thanks! I live in ND, Floor to Ceiling did our countertops when we remodeled our kitchen. We did most of the work ourselves, but had Floor to Ceiling do our counter tops and back splash. He also added under counter lighting all the way around the kitchen. This is what it looked like when we started. :) My husband built the cupboards up to the ceiling and added the crown molding. Then we painted them. I truly love them. This is a 70's ranch style home and a work in progress for sure.

Can you show me your pics of your Formica Crema Mascarello or Silver Quartzite countertop. Or any Formica similar color. Thanks
