Thanks, Les. This is a room that we will spend time in, so we will be watching TV and putting our feet up. I am planning to put a rug in there, and maybe rather than a coffee table ottoman, a coffee table would be better. We can always get a small ottoman to pull over from a side chair maybe if we want one. As far as pattern and color goes in the rug, I don't know how much more pattern I can go with since I already have the pattern in the pillows and am thinking of bringing in a side chair in the animal print. However, I may not use the animal print for anything more than a pillow. I don't know yet. I really need some help on finding a side chair for this room too, as well as tables but I guess that's too many questions for this one thread. Johnatemp, if I'm going to go with a coffee table, I think the one you chose is a nice one. I like the color of the wood with the artwork and the sofa I think. And it's not too contemporary looking.

Our previous home we had an ottoman with a tray. This home we have a very large perfectly square coffee table because the space screamed for this particular look. But, in the same area we also have a chair with an ottoman.

"Wrong" is too strong a word for me though - as I said in my comment, it's a matter of what I'm seeing on my monitor. When I saw the pic, the round table stuck out for me and I think it's because its colour doesn't relate to anything else I see in the picture. On my monitor, the round table has a pale pink tinge which my eye isn't picking up elsewhere in the pic (esp. in the other woods I see). But as I said, it's a quibble and I'm no Pro. Not certain what I'd offer as an alternate either. Wasn't keen on Beverly's suggestions. Maybe simply adding a picture with a frame in a similar finish as the round table on the wall next to the TV? A blue and blush throw pillow on the couch? See what I mean? It's a quibble. :) Not sure "tweaks" are worth the effort. As for the rectangular table, for me it's the size that doesn't work. The orange wood works for me because orange is the complementary colour to blue and my eye picks up a fair amount of orange in the wood ceiling and floor. And there's a blue and orange pillow on the sofa. But I'm "assessing" all this based on pixels on my monitor. The feel of a room can be so much different in reality! In both pics (which have different lighting, btw), the room is gorgeous and it's obvious to me the OP has a good eye.

Thank oly chick for ur input.. I was thinking square or like rounded square or maybe an irregular shape because the sofa and chairs have rounded lines not completely round if that makes sense.. I will look again at suitable cylinder type tables.. but I feel like they wouldn't work for some reason. I agree the framework seems leggy..
