help decorating my living room
Comments (9)Hi Heather. I've mocked up your room in a 3D build. The existing layout seems perfectly fine unless you want to get rid of the large sectional. To deck up your room you can add in some pillows and slide a rug under to create warmth. The long cabinet you currently have can go. You can place an open shelving rack with some books and decoratives. I have added an ottoman on side of it which can also serve as a mini stool whenever required. Adding plants will bring in a lot of color in the room. You can add thin side tables in each corner of the sectional to complete the look. Please neglect too many pillows...See MoreHelp decorating my living room?
Comments (6)Is there a den in this home or only this living area? If you have another room for TV, this man cave style furniture would do better there. If this is to be the only TV room, will the recliners clear the wall if they're any closer to them? If you decide to swap these for new seating I would put a 3-seat sofa on the long wall opposite the windows. Add a pair of chairs and coffee table in a group with it. Put the TV on the wall right of the FP on a credenza 25% wider than the TV. On the wall where your lamp is place a tall piece of casegoods to visually counterbalance the FP. Swivel chairs will easily turn to watch TV or converse with sofa sitters. A large rug that anchors all the seating will tie things together. you can add a bench in the window recess....See MoreHelp decorating new living room and kitchen
Comments (8)Hello! I'm a home stager and to prevent the room from looking over crowded, you can put the lounge chair next to where the bookcase is. If not, a simple rectangular bench will do: https://amzn.to/2Rk3uhM Place a few throw pillows on top of the bench and sit them upwards (and lean them against the wall at an angle) to add some elegance: https://amzn.to/32oWAhz Over by the bookcase, a faux fiddle leaf tree by Nearly Natural will be nice and their quality and shipping is great: https://amzn.to/2FzyxU9 Where the books are, I recommend canvas art or a large mirror in that space. I would remove those books because they look misplaced. The white and tan combination would be beautiful and the comment above about adding a rug with blue hues (preferably navy blue) would compliment the space very well. This one is a great price because 8 by 10 rugs are usually very expensive: https://amzn.to/33m8mZr At Home has some fantastic area rugs as well and they don't cost too much. It will look beautiful afterwards! #affiliatelink...See MoreHelp decorating new living room!
Comments (5)If you don't want builtins, I would use two large matching console or buffet tables with closed storage on each side of the fireplace. Mount the TV on the wall above one of them, and place artwork or a large mirror on the wall above the other. Add art above the fireplace as well. You also need end tables, a table lamp and possibly a floor lamp, but start with the bigger peices....See MoreRelated Professionals
