no, it wouldn't I mixed finishes in all my baths..looks pretty natural. I don't even think people notice..they just see bigger picture. Don't mix brushed nickel and polished nickel, or chrome and nickel, these are too close to mix successfuly. ORB is different enough from brushed nickel, and also gives that very neutral feel, it being dark..you should be fine. but you can also cross post your question in Home Decorating forum..there's usually where questions about colors etc. go. Or Bathrooms one..but Home Decorating has more traffic..you 'll get more responces

The voltage "disappears" because your meter is reading junk. Its impedance is so high that it can read "phantom voltage," even when the circuit's resistance is so high that no usable current can flow. When you put a real load such as a light bulb on the circuit, the truth is revealed. :) A low impedance tester (example) will give you more realistic results. For a cheaper low impedance tester, get a rubber pigtail socket and a small (7-25 watt) INCANDESCENT bulb at the hardware store. If you have a soldering iron or gun, tin (coat with solder) the wire ends to stiffen them so they're more like tester probes. In your case, the circuit is open somewhere. A failed switch is a strong possibility. Use your low impedance tester to check both switch terminals (put the white wire on the metal box, or on a bare ground wire in the box, and touch the black wire to each switch terminal in turn). Careful when working with live circuits! With the switch on, both terminals should light the bulb. If not, replace the switch. If you get real voltage at both switch terminals, but not at the black wire in the light's box, post back and we'll dig deeper. Karen - I am wondering if you did decide to use the light sconce you are asking about here - Bath and Spa 1-Light Vanity, 570-1C-WHT, Medium. I am considering this light for our bathroom renovation - one on each side of our vanity mirror. But I'm concerned it might not give off adequate light there - perhaps the heavy shade blocks the light more than would be appropriate for this situation. If you've been using this light yourself, perhaps you can tell me your thoughts about it.

lighting will be made choice should be made after the paint and mirror choice. I wouldn't get rid of the mirror I would just frame it to update the look. But if you plan to go with single mirrors you would need those measurements to scale the light. On another note if these are the original light fixtures, you will also want to make sure that the outlet is actually centered behind that mounting plate, sometimes, 70-90's builds didnt center the outlets for some reason.
