Photos are useful but what we really need to see is a lay-out with dimensions. Photos require too much guessing on my part. For instance, looking at your photo, I estimated that you have about 96" between counters. Then I saw that you posted that your room is 12' wide and I realized that you have only 93" between counters and even less than that between appliances. Not that those 3" matter because at 93" or 96", your kitchen isn't wide enough to accommodate a skinny island, much less a kitchen table, not if you wish to have decent aisles. NKBA recommended aisle width for a one-cook kitchen is 42" and 48" for a two-cook kitchen. You can go with as little as 36" for one aisle but it's not recommended to go with aisles narrower than that or even all your aisles at 36" because that makes for tight work spaces (open fridge, range or DW door and you block the aisle). NKBA recommends 44" aisles around a table if you wish to walk behind diners and 36" aisles if you wish to squeeze behind diners. But you need to watch what appliances open into that space. You wouldn't - at least I wouldn't - want 36" between table and range, that would be unsafe. The kitchen in your inspiration pic is much wider than your kitchen. It's at least 40" wider, quite possibly more (as I wrote, photos require too much guessing). But don't despair. Post your lay-out with dimensions (see instructions at the link below) and we may be able to find a way to help you achieve a look similar to your inspiration kitchen. The first thing that strikes me is that your curtain rod is too short which is why you have to push the curtains to the side which kills the vibe in this room. Get longer rods and linen-type curtains that are fairly similar to the wall color which will give the room warmth without looking busy. Please make sure that your area rug is as large as possible because that will make this room look fabulous. Little bitty rugs do not. I would choose an Oriental rug in warm colors because it will hide little accidents, at least until you can address them. I would definitely get a sofa, so great for cuddling with your husband and kids. I would place it in front of the window for good lighting for reading but also because it gives you the best sight lines into other areas of your home. Instead of a coffee table consider a large ottoman with a lid so that you have plenty of storage space. Please don't buy a brown or black leather couch. They look dated and are so difficult to decorate around. Try beige or caramel, with two chairs in contrasting colors, perhaps a nice blue or green, colors that will be in the carpet hopefully. You can also use the carpet colors to choose pillows for your soft furniture. Find some nice pictures to put on the walls, a large green plant, a bookcase or two (books are a must in a room) and side tables for lamps. By now your room will look gorgeous and be pretty well furnished and, most important of all, will be comfortable and fun to be in.

Have you considered putting the table against the window the long way (see sketch in blue). There would be 40" of walk space if the hearth is 18" into the room. An indoor/outdoor is a great option that will anchor the table, add color as well as be the base for the room. I would also install either a long rod with stationary window panels on either side or short rods on either side of the window. The short rods would also have stationary panels. This will visually complete the windows. I would put an accent chair in the corner on the fireplace wall by the entry with an art piece above. A built-in bookshelf cabinet could be installed to the right of the firelace. Add a focal piece above the fireplace and you're all set!

Look at how high you need to mount the TV. You should have an entertainment center on one side. Move the TV from over the fireplace to that area. Then you can have a large, beautiful piece of art over the fireplace for a spectacular focal point. If you do built-ins, keep them to about four or five feet high for a horizontal counterpoint with the fireplace. Something like this:
