Need help with a confused living room and breakfast nook
Comments (5)Hi Junco, thanks for the comment. We would just like a table for 4 or maybe a foldout that extends to 6. We see ourselves having a sectional couch and maybe one glider for the baby. The space is long, so we could picture having a couple occasional chairs and a table at the end of the space. or maybe something more interesting than that. The hallway leads to the powder room and garage and a storage space under the stairs (behind the media niche). here's the whole floorplan. We don't anticipate having any other living areas/dining areas. The grand room at the front of the house will be a creative space....See MoreHELP WITH LIVING ROOM layout and design!
Comments (27)Consider moving the fish tank and cabinet on which it sits to the left. Move the tv to the right and hang it on the wall just above a black, rectangle shaped, box shelf. If you're DIY inclined, you could build the shelf yourself with shelving board, finishing nails and black paint. http://www.olffmaine.com/modern-living-room-tv-stands/best-living-room-tv-stand-tv-stands-ideas-furniture-whalen-furniture-tv-stand-value-city/ Hide the filter in one of a pair black, square/cube footlockers you stand on each side of the tank -- with a potted plant (snake plant) atop each footlocker. Cut out the right sized hole in the back of the footlocker to fit the filter and wires through. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Seward-Trunk-Collegiate-Cube-Collection-20-Inch-Footlocker-Cube-Trunk-Black/23974851 If you want additional ideas about hiding wires/cables: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/pinterest-hacks-for-hiding-unsightly-wires_us_56719d79e4b0648fe301ca2e...See MoreHelp with living room design. Comments (19)This is great. I think I wanted to be different. Everyone has coffered ceilings in their Craftsman homes around here. I saw some cove lit trays in some condos in NYC and they looked really good... so I was incorporating that feature. The great room has 14ft ceilings, so it is not typical height for a living room. Based on comments, I am going to simplify the design. Probably just do one or two (one dining and one living) cove lights to separate the rooms. What do you think? Comments (1)Cute place, i see the challenge, but I am really against a sectional in this space let alone for guest to have to sit next to each other it creates a weird dynamic. I hope you are not planning to put the tv over the fireplace that would also be a neck breaker. I see the couch on the side the two red chairs. the tv on the wall with the lockers and 2 chairs to the dining room side....See Morela_la Girl
