Shutters/Exterior Paint Scheme
What would you do? Not a fan of the yellow. Options considered for shutters include removing them (they are original), painting black (with white trim elsewhere).

Comments (18)You will get a much better return on your home if you landscape it well rather than paint the brick, especially since you plan to only be in the home a short time before you sell. Definitely remove the shutters since your windows are not designed for them. Comments (5)I would not paint the shingles. They blend very well with the brick. I had to look twice to find them. Thats the way they should look. I wouldnt change anything, repaint in the same color you have, it looks good. I would also reconsider the roof color, and try to keep a similar color to what you already have. I also like the shutters on your house. The garage seems to stand out, more than it should, already, so I wouldnt accent it with another color door....See More- PRO

If the shutters are kept, Celery's suggestion in the inspiration photo of painting them the trim color is probably the option I like best, but my eye still goes immediately to the shutters and not to the entry. The balance is different here from the inspiration photo since these shutters are on the upper level only.One other thought: If the left-side addition has to be kept, might it be possible to reframe its roof to a hip instead of a shed? That might help to integrate it better. The last photo above shows the reframed roof; you can see what you think.
