kristine, Sorry, I just saw your last message. Now that I've had the tub and surround for over a year, I will tell you this (although I'm sure you are done with your project): If I had to do it all over again and I had the extra $$$, I would have gotten a Kohler cast iron bathtub and a tile bath surround. I'm thinking it would have cost an extra grand. But I was already over budget for the bathroom with my kitchen still to do. The bottom of the Sterling tub IS textured and it does require a little bit more elbow grease. But I am still crazy happy with my new bathroom. I love waking to it every morning. Everything has held up well....the beadboard from Nantucket Beadboard is superior! It's designed to be moisture resistance and perfect for bathrooms. It looks as good today as it did last year. No wear and tear at all on the paint....not even near the sink! My quickie purchase $99 faucet from Home Depot, due to being in a hurry....turned out to be one of my favorite things about my bathroom. The faucet is easy to turn on and off and a breeze to keep clean. I'll never again feel the need to do a more vintage looking, wide spread faucet with both hot and cold again. I love the mix of the modern style (sleek) faucet mixed with my vintage choices. Kompy Ps. Since doing this bath, I have found out that the city records for my home is incorrect. My house was built before 1927....probably 1925. I found the original owner's grandson....by CHANCE! In fact, I was doing his kitchen remodel and we got to talking....his grandparents were the first owners of my house and his mom graduated from the H.S. by my house in 1927. The grandson is now in his late 60's or early 70's. He sent me a ton of pictures. AMAZING!

Banana- Thanks for compliments! Coping on the spa is Tennessee Crab Orchard Flagstone in grey. I don't think they did anything to the edge - that's just how it came from the stone yard. The stacked stone surrounding the spa is called Delaware Valley Blend. The coping on the pool is EP Henry Coventry bullnose in the Harvest Blend color, which ties into our pool deck and patio area. I empathize with you. Making these color selections, and choosing the River Rok, were the hardest part of our build. I made myself crazy - it was hard for me to visualize how everything would work together. I just kept my fingers crossed...

Kellykath- the inside of the cabinet is a wide beadboard stained the same dark color as my island. Lolauren, you have good eyes- they are the circa lighting/visual comfort pendants. I am pretty sure they are the large size- whichever one is 12" across and has 3 bulbs. We went round and round on that one for awhile (no pun intended) and I am pretty sure "large" was the final answer. I saw those on the circa website and was obsessed with finding a place for them somewhere in our house! Basilbee- our mudroomfloors are slate fro the Tile Shop. Color is Madras Multi with a natural gray grout.

My kitchen walls--what there are of them--are a dark burnt orange. All kinds of colors can work, but it depends on things like what the cabinets are like. Mine are blond bamboo. Coral will be hard to match to a lot of wood tones, though it can be done. You can also take the same coral you used for the den and mix it 1:1 or 2:1 or 2:3 with base white. That way you get a lighter tint, but still the same color (the other ones on the card are related but generally not the same). I can't find the picture right now, but there was a blog entry with an Italian kitchen with apricot walls and pale wood cabinets that looked great, in terms of color. I bet coral would look just as good. It would also look good with white or cream cabinets. Pale yellow could work but might be cloying. Or you could go full on Florida retro and do coral walls with aqua cabinets, or vice versa--though you'd probably need some pink plastic flamingos, and other retro kitsch to pull it off. What color are the cabinets?
