I've been doing the research on several fridges myself for a remodel and have decided on the panel ready KA KFCO22EVBL. Depends on your cabinet maker as to the costs of the individual panels but 18' appliance handles are about $110 each depending also on the finish. I finally found one on display today and it was a decent fridge. Nothing like Subzero, of course, but less than half the price! There,of course, with difference in the hinge of the Subzero that pulls the door out a inch or two to prevent the door from touching or scraping the cabinetry. Nice, but not worth an extra $3000.

Judy, we did see a GE Profile panel ready and I think it was metal sliders but to be honest I need to check it again. We like the adjustable pull out shelves and liked the bottom freezer three drawers better as I think the Jenn-Air had only 2. I do not know how the panel are mounted on either so need to check that. The handles are just not a big issue for us. I just saw yesterday information on the Fisher Paykel's (#RF201ADUX)new French door bottom freezer and liked the look and the information on their website about it. So I will give it a look for sure.

get the SZ, we got a SZ as part of our kitchen remodel, I do notice fruits and vegetables are staying fresher longer vs my ~10yr old fridge that the SZ replaced. I don't know if technology has improved so much now that all refrigerators will keep foods better or SZ fridges just preserve the foods better with the air filter, right temp and humidity. I come from the "a fridge is just fridge, no need to spend more for brand name one", but now I am a believer. Since foods last so much longer now, I might actually save money in a long run.

I am one of those strange people who actually prefers a flush install of a built-in appliance over a fully integrated installation. I always feel that a fridge is too big to look nice as a "fake cabinet". It just doesn't feel organic when I see this giant panel that pretends to be a cabinet. On the other hand, with a flush install, the fridge is still kept out of sight for the most part, but you get just enough visual cues to realize that this isn't a comically oversized cabinet. I like that. I want to know where the fridge is hiding. Your mileage might very well vary though. Everybody has a different design preference.
