Not watching - didn't even know that was possible. It's a very sensational story, and I did read the news about it. What a horrorshow...

I have been watching it before the actual trial on episodes of Dateline, 20/20, and 48 Hours. If these weren't real events, you would think it was made up. I dislike intensely that whole family including the dead son who killed a young girl in a drunken boating accident or the remaining son who probably killed a gay guy a few years ago. Just like a former president the rich and powerful always skirt.

I just read the article. It seems like a story that should be out of the 40s or 50s not from today. Holy Moly.

I'd never heard of this case. I just canceled my NewYorker subscription, so wouldn't have seen it. Wow.

There are occasionally times I read something that leaves me speechless. That article was one of them. I literally can not make sense of how that can happen. I desperately want to believe it is fiction, because if it is factual my head can't process it.

Ally De, exactly how I felt reading it. I had heard snippets of the story, but this article was compelling. (And how about the image produced by the description of Alex walking into the courteoom, ending with ”like he was walking onto a yacht”. Now that song is in my head, so this story will be, too.)

That is an excellent New Yorker article for it highlights the corruptions of the ruling class, including judges, lawyers, in which the Murdaughs is a part. The nature of greed is self destructive, and after this exposure the hardest task would be to reform this corrupted system of crime and privilege.

I ’ve been paying attention to it for a long while now. Not gavel to gavel, but I keep informed.

The New Yorker article is good. If there is a paywall, go to link and as it opens up, immediately select the READER VIEW option. Then you can read it. The article gives you a feeling for the whole backdrop and cultural landscape. Great poverty in that area and extreme political and fixed hierarchy.

What an unclassy crew. Craven entitlement.

Idaho murders (latest is that the suspect, Kohlberger had been fired from his TA position after hostile intereractions with his advisor and staff (and female students), so that might well have put him in jeopardy of losing his office (for sure, as well as income), and his apartment in grad student apartments.

Duxbury, Massachusetts Mother charged with killing her three young children and attempting suicide. Post partum psychosis. The US judges post partum women who break psychologically and kill or harm their children very harshly. Out of ignorance. Very sad and horrible.

No, I don't tend to follow such things.

I’ve discovered the Law & Crime trial network and like their coverage

this is where i watch all of the trials that interest me. the coverage of the trial where the nutjob ran his SUV through a holiday parade was riveting as was the coverage of the sentencing hearing of nicholas cruz.

their panels are made up of mostly attorneys with some law enforcement people sprinkled in. they are very good at explaining the nuances of courtroom happenings.
