Seriously - I wonder how long it took to edit them and upload. I’d lose the desire to post any more after about the first 20.

My guess is that she had the digital option to upload all at once. Either that, or her honeymoon is super boring.

A few of my FB friends over-posted dozens of photos of their recent vacations. If that's your thing, that's your thing. But I have found my life more peaceful when I realized that no one thinks of me as much as I think they do.

I really enjoy photography and like to share my photos on IG. I follow and am followed by mostly folks with similar interests in photographic subjects that include travel, home decor, fashion (and cats). I will post the occasional selfie. Not often, but occasionally I feel good about my look and want to share a photo that comes out decently; doesn't happen often that a selfie does come out well, though, so there aren't that many scattered throughout my posts. I have seen many accounts while I'm scrolling - particularly those that come up as 'suggestions' - that are nothing but selfies, and I just wonder ... why?? I would imagine there are a quite a few of the younger generation that do this in an attempt to gain "influencer" status, but I see this from people my age or thereabouts as well. Picture after picture after picture of someone's face. Gah. I'd MUCH rather see cats.

If you click on the three dots ... next to the person's name, one of the options to choose is "unfollow". Choose that and you won't see any posts from this person until you go back to your friend list, click on the ... again and choose "follow". You are still FB friends and they don't know you did that. Another option is to choose "snooze" in the same option list and for 30 days you will see no posts from this person and you are still FB friends. I find it useful where there has been a case of oversharing or the overzealous fairy has made a visit to the person in question.

I have to assume there was some sort of bulk upload option. I would guess this person either wanted or had requests to share all her wedding photos (maybe with close family) and felt like FB was the easiest way to share. It's not what I would do, but I guess everyone is different and has a different view and comfort level of using FB for personal data and photos.

I "mute" some people, which is like unfollowing but only lasts 30 days. When the month is up, their posts will start showing up in your feed again w/o you doing anything. This is great if you think you might forget that you muted them. People who show a habit of posting too much in general are unfollowed by me indefinitely.

Either way, they will have no idea you did this. For a few overly sensitive people, I might go to their page and "like" a post every now and then so they don't think I'm ingnoring them.

People can post whatever they want on Facebook as long as it doesn't violate Facebook's terms of service.

People can have opinions about what others post on Facebook.

I will probably not even snooze her, I will just scroll by, I am not offended by it or anything.

The wedding was actually in the fall sometime.

I did snooze the ones who posted essentially nude glamour pregnancy photos repeatedly. Not that those offended me either, I would just rather not see them.

I do know someone who did not get a job because of their FB content which included some rather sexualized Cosplay. That's fine, but maybe they should think about their privacy settings.

And yes, she is doing social media her way, and I would never say anything to her about something so harmless . . .but I, in turn, am allowed to express an opinion about what I think is the excessiveness of this in a different forum that is so private that not only will you never know who she is, most of you don't know who I am.

^^^This.^^^ Most people my age or younger are not really even using facebook anymore. But they might occasionally post photos of major events because their parents or grandparents want it.

Honestly facebook has gotten so bad that I deleted it from my phone. People I know rarely post actual updates about what's happening in their lives. It has almost no social value to me anymore. I pretty much only keep it to use the Buy Nothing group.

I belong to special interest groups on architecture, design, historic photographs, stuff like that. I never post anything personal.

I only look at the first page of photos on a Facebook post. I don't click on the plus sign.

I agree that 500+ is excessive - who is actually going to look at them all? How long would that even take?

And why assume they've been edited? I'm guessing a person who apparently thinks nothing of sharing 500+ photos of an event (admittedly a big life event) likely doesn't spend lots of time editing or reviewing them.

And I didn't know FB allowed you to do that - I have very few of my own photos uploaded. Hard to imaging uploading that many at once - wonder how long it took to do that?

The 500-odd is probably the entire package delivered from the photographer, so the photographer probably edited these or whittled them down from a larger group.

She will, a few relatives might and some in the wedding party will search out the photos that include them.

My takeaway is that the photographer should probably not take too many pictures of the late-night dance floor activities.

I do the unfollow thing when someone is consistently an oversharer (in my opinion). I also do what @User does- I do go and "like" a post or two every now and then.

I just can'tt tolerate the ones who seem to have to post multiple times a day and usually it's regarding meals or pix to show why they are so grateful for everything. I am happy for them but I don't need to be in on their life every few hours.

My niece who had a full-on documentary-style set of photos--her wedding was actually published as a life-style feature in the paper and such, had one of these huge packages of photos--100s of final photos, and she sent them to family to look at. I looked at all of them just to get a feel for the whole event, That said, I think one official photo made it to social medial and that was it.

Oversharing special events is still better in my book than oversharing birthdays - birthday week, birthday month. WTH? I don't miss FB.

I probably go to FB about once a week, unless I need to contact the guy who has helped out A LOT with things here I can no longer do easily myself. As that is the quickest way to reach him. (Yes, I pay him.)

I have never unleashed a photo dump... probably the largest ones have been 7-8 photos of the home construction process. Which I am glad I did as I lost all the other photos when my then-computer died a messy death. (Yes, USB drives are better friends....)

I am glad for FB, even if I don't frequent it. Got back in touch with lost friends from ages ago; found out in a timely manner about serious illnesses and deaths of others - whose relatives wouldn't know I existed. Get to watch the creative endeavors of a cousin and her husband as they do them.

And yes, I've found homes for things I no longer want here, that neighborhood people are simply willing to drop by and pick up from my porch when I let them know these are available.

I joined a FB group for parents of students at one of my DD's (relatively small) college. I do no think I have ever posted.

As mentioned elsewhere, I started looking at FB mktplace after hearing about it on so many vlogs. I now check it daily. I have come close to adopting a dog, renting a house, and buying nightstands. I need none of these. But such good deals!

I used to be a member of two neighborhood groups, but I had to unfollow because it was giving me a false sense of our area being more dangerous than it actually is (a phenomenon sometimes referred to as "The Nextdoor Effect"). It was also filling up with too many whiners, stupid arguments, and businesses self-promoting way too often. I don't miss it.

I do still follow a hyper local neighborhood group that's just our block only. It's very handy information, and people don't post on it too frequently.

Our Next Door App only has people that are very strange and odd. I read it (it pops up on my phone) for laughs and OMG reactions LOL It is good for some car break ins information. Most are not in my neighborhood though, it seems. I joined around 10 years ago and it seemed different when it started up. Went downhill fast. Makes you realize the weirdos out there and among us. Eek!

I find Nextdoor ( which I do use, but more to see anything of interest) very difficult to navigate and search. I just browse to see what people are posting. I know others find it more useful than I do. I use FB more for groups or pages that I really enjoy a lot....less of my use is for socializing or keeping in touch with friends. I did that in the beginning a lot and I appreciated FB for reconnecting with so many people, but now the novelty or the charm has worn off a bit.
