Has Anyone Bought Serenity Brown Granite from Lowe's?

Hello! I am in the planning & design phase of renovating the kitchen of the house we will be moving into in a few months. Unfortunately I have Champagne taste, and a beer budget!! I've gotten quotes for the gorgeous slabs that caught my eye such as DaVinci, Azzurite, Alexandrita,
Azul Imperiale etc and of course they were double what we want to spend. So I see Lowe's carries Fantasy Brown polished in our price range. The movement and colors are appealing to us, but after 7 years of living with polished Titanium which always looked bad with water spots and smudges I am leery of the polished finish. Our new home is on a river off the Chesapeake Bay. I want a warm, casual, earthy yet light vibe. I noticed Lowe's also has Serenity Brown described as the "honed" version of FB on the website, but their supplier, Sage Surfaces describes it as Leathered. 🧐 I read that leathered is better stain and bacteria resistant as the process "tightens the pores" so I would prefer leathered.
I am definitely not a high maintenance type of gal, and this product, Allen +Roth Granite supposedly has a proprietary lifetime sealant and a 30 year transferable warranty! Too good to be true? Do I need to really care whether it's honed or leathered with this guarantee and sealant protection?
I would love to hear all thoughts and better yet experiences with Serenity Brown.

I really like the look/color of Fantasy Brown that I’ve seen on display. I’ve had multiple designers tell me that one needs to be careful with selecting FB as it has a tendency to be more on the pink side, so definitely want to select your own slab and understand if/how the lighting will impact the color.

We have leathered Fantasy Brown (not from Lowe’s), that was treated with More Anti-Etch and 1 1/2 years later still looks perfect.

Hi Sparkier, thanks for that! Wow, interesting that you saw and liked the Splendor Gold! I made a trip back to the store for another look yesterday - for me it's a 5 hour round trip, but I just had to see what was 'new', and see my slabs, and get more input. It was good to see the whole slabs in person again, instead of the little chunk I've been toting around. My slabs have a lot of creamy, ivory in them, mixed with the warm browns, which is better for what I am doing. The consensus at the store was my that granite is actually more neutral than many others, and that it should be fine with what I am doing. There are MANY BEAUTIFUL granites out there! I wish I had several houses or applications in which to use ALL of the ones I loved! Wow, I saw a navy blue slab that was STUNNING. I would love to use that somewhere! Next house, maybe?? I think I scared everyone off with my color confessions. It's actually not as bad as I made it sound. The colored stools have no backs and will slide discreetly under the counter, and with the dark brown wood looks nice near the granite. I've been looking at lights for about 6 weeks, focusing on ivory pendants, but can't find them in the shape I want (lots of white), then stumbled across the cute, colored ones, but I've nixed those. Maybe I can find another room to use them in, they're awful cute. Pictures, yes, I'll be wondering what you end up choosing. Hopefully we'll be done or close to done first week of June. sskit, I agree with Live Wire, while the concept is not new, hanging large format 2cm stone on a vertical wall should be taken seriously. Any well thought-out stone installer will know to ask the right questions and they will make certain other tradesmen are not left holding the bag after the stone is installed. Just make sure the obvious utilities are accessible and the rough in is complete and most importantly identify who is responsible for each task. Another option for the stone installer is to install mechanical clips around the exhaust opening. ItÃ¯Â¿Â½s another way to help pin the stone to the wall without having to worry about hiding the anchors. Something similar to Hohmann and Barnard #432 would work great (again I am sure your stone installer can also provide alternate options). All the best Caayu

The JSI factory is in Fall River MA. The address is: 485 Commerce Drive, Fall River, MA 02720 All of the displays are there and the cabinets are really lovely. However, they don't have full-extension drawers and only self-close not soft close. The drawers close hard/load. I was working with Stacey at Woodlist.com. He got me an appointment to see them. Their site also has a good list of the cabinets and trims available with sketches. The price point is higher than Nieghbors, but Stacey said that was flexible. Their link is below. I also went and saw the Kabinart cabinets that are available from mfkusa.com. They are great! There are lots of choices in doors, colors, cabinets and trim. The construction is top notch. fwiw...some cheapie hints... Home Depot online can be accessed through EBates, which gives a little rebate for the referral. Go to Ebates first (have to register), then go to HD. Some of the other online kitchen stuff companies are also available through the Ebates internal referral service. I got a $35 refund check from them one month. I wish I had known about Ebates before I spent big bucks on two cast iron sinks and two faucets through HDepot online. Look for online codes and/or holiday discounts from the various vendors. You'd be surprised what are considered "holidays" by the online companies. Mayday might be a 10% off day, that kind of thing. I know that "Black Friday" after Thanksgiving was a good discount day (actually the entire weekend and the Monday afterward) and even April Fool's Day had a discount for some vendors. Often the home web page for a company has today's discount code listed on it. I've sometimes emailed the company on the "contact us" and asked point-blank, "Is there a discount today or in the next week which I need to type in when I buy online?" Often they give me the info. Or they tell me to register for their email newsletter so I can snag the upcoming code for the next "sale." At least that tells me that there is a sale coming up.

Thank you Mark. I did my research and know what FB is. I have been told once I purchase, I can view the slab at the supplier and either approve it or tell them I want anither. That's not the issue. Just wanting to know if anyone has the honed FB, which they're calling Serenity Brown, and how it's performing for them with the A+R sealant..

Clt3, that is GORGEOUS! I love how pearly and iridescent it looks. Honestly I am surprised at the iridescent quality with the leathered finish but wow, it's beautiful. And your island and backsplash cilor happens to be very close to my favorite color. I want to save this for backsplash idea!. Hubs is a furniture guy, so painted cabinets are out. We've compromised on a very translucent stain, most likely on Cherry. But as I sais, we are just getting started. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous kitchen!

Lol, my cabinets are actually cherry. Had them painted and changed the counter and backsplash.

Clt3, I LOVE the white!!! But he won't budge. If I go with a natural finish on cherry I don't think they'll be as dark as yours. Maybe I can convince him to go maple with a translucent milky or tranquil blue stain. I'm going to keep working on him! 🤣

I am remodeling my kitchen, and based on stone type, color, honing, budget, I have narrowed my search down to the Allen Roth Serenity Brown. I am about to pull the trigger on the purchase, but would love your feedback. Did you ever purchase the Serenity Brown, and are you happy with the outcome? If you did purchase, and it has been installed, can you share some pictures?
