The best B daylilies 2023
Comments (29)Sherry always good to see Buzz Saw opens well for you. Bela Lugosi had washed out color in the heat this year and has gotten shaded out too much. A move is in its future. Well I adore every single one shown. Big Bird on its first year. I love it for the size of the bloom and the clear yellow. Rotten deer ate the buds after this pic. Black Arrowhead wowed me with how quickly it established and I am fond of the shape and coloration. It bloomed over a very long period especially considering its young age. Blue Sheen has a long bloom period. This year was not as good as last but it was extremely hot and dry. I am on a well and do not water. Yes it has its faults, blooms are too low in the foliage and they are smallish blooms but Buffy's Doll is prolific and I really like the coloration....See MoreBest F daylilies 2023
Comments (28)I love the form and color of Forest God. I hate to hear that about Forever and for Always, the blooms are so pretty. Last year was its 1st bloom season, did not do great but I am pretty sure it rebloomed. I like those pinks, David! Brad, that color on Fiordiligi is so nice. FOREVER REDEEMED looks nice in everyone's pictures. I talk myself out of that one because I have so many of that style. Fire In the Hole, Kay, but my favorite is firecracker Parade. Kate, Flying fox must be so impressive at that size! Fried Green Tomatoes is an impressive grower, isn't it? Mine was 3 years old this year, not sure mine has multiplied quite so well as yours. It has such a long bloom season though, it was a major bud builder this year. Nancy, I have Fiesta Latina here too, and it is a great plant. The only reason I don't post it often, my camera does not capture the color as nice as you see it in person. I agree about Fox Point too, I would have posted that one if I had a picture of it. Debra, Faith That Moves Mountains and Fighting Fire are amazing!...See MoreYour best I daylilies 2023
Comments (17)Even though there have been other postings of IN HIGH REGARD, I decided to add mine to the mix. It is one of my favorites in the garden. It is such a clean looking flower. ISABELLE ROSE: Perfection!!! I am frequently disappointed by the Stout Medal winners, but not this one! INQUIRE WITHIN: Another outstanding plant. I love the color combination and plant habit is not too shabby. It is well branched and budded. INDY SHOCKER: Not the best picture. This is the most difficult daylily bloom to photograph regardless of the lighting conditions. It is a well branched and budded plant. Blooms for a long time. The only drawback is that it is slow to increase. Honorable Mentions: IRON WARRIOR: A newer Bennett intro. It is a big bloom. I am hoping that it continues to put out blooms like this. IT'S THE RAGE: Hoping that it gets taller, but I like the teeth. That is it for me. David...See MoreFive best R daylilies 2023
Comments (21)Here are mine (and btw, I do concur about Raspberry Suede being a great daylily. Every year it is one of the best plants in the garden. Somehow I always overlook it and forget to take it's photo). Here's one not many people grow but should. This is a Culver and it is one of the only daylilies that reblooms in my New Hampshire garden. This plant has wonderful plant habits, pristine foliage and sturdy scapes, blooms profusely and has great color. REBECCA HOCKRIDGE RUNNING IN THE RAIN, makes the list every time; a big plant with great color, large blooms, hardy and robust. Sets pods like crazy. Another vote for RUBY SPIDER. What can you say other than it's fantastic? Every....single....year. Even in year's of severe drought. This was last summer where it never got watered and the ground was bone dry. REMINDS ME OF FIREWORKS, I got this from Nancy in KY and I'm offering my photo of it as well. Reliable, year after year. Great size, color and performance. Very eyecatching in a clump. REGINA SITKO, I seem to be 'copying' other people's nominations today! But this is a great one. I have one more to squeeze in and it's another one already shown. It (and Come Sail Away) has been the best of the Guy Pierce intros in terms of hardiness and vigor. Most don't do that well here but this one is good. And it sets lots of pods for me. It's truly lovely. ROSEMARIE LOUISE...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
