Electrical gremlin -- all the valve wires connected to each other
Comments (1)I guess I should add that the resistance when checking the common and valve wires is very, very high... Could the cause of this be an innundated valve or connection? We have had a lot of rain here lately (though not too lately). I did find the meter boxes had still had standing water in them, though. The winter was also exceptionally cold. But, no, there's no leak, at least not on my side of the meters....See MorePanic Attack. . .Grey Mirage too Minty?? (pics) X Post frm Kit
Comments (12)Thanks again everyone!! Moonshadow, if I didn't see it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it, but they all match (8x8, dab on the can, walls). I wonder if it's the red in the floors/counters that are doing something to it. Boxer, I did pull out some oldish fabric samples and found two that, amazingly enough, really seem to pull it together. The background of one is a dead-ringer for the walls (minty and all!!) and has some dusty pinks, lavendar, ivory and rust in some of the florals, and the R Sprig in some of the greens in the leaves. The other one is a "Middle Eastern" paisley with dk brown, rust, and a little olive in it. Only problem is that next to the oven stack, I'd have to find some art work with those colors in it. . .but a distnct possiblity if I decide to keep it!! Jbrig and SandraZ6. .I really think lightening up the the R Sprig with white might be the answer. When I get to the end of the road, I'll let everyone know what I did. . .and thanks again, and again, and again. . . you all are the BEST!!...See MoreGremlins stole my car keys.
Comments (31)Saying that the last time you saw them the atmosphere was chaotic is not a good thing, one time I threw out an important receipt during a time of great distraction, and after searching high and low I steeled myself to go through my garbage bag, there it was, eww. Are you able to relax and think back to remember what had occurred the last time you had those keys. Distinctly remember placing them on that mat, or maybe at the last minute decided to put somewhere else over the holidays? My keys, my purse, and my watch have distinct 'holding' spots, and occasionally I take off my watch in the bedroom and leave it on the dresser, but the next day when I need it and go over to the usual spot in the kitchen for it, it won't be there and in my panic I'll momentarily forget the other spot. So I try to stick to the same ONE spot for special things. I've also been known (only to me) to hide special things in the house (like the kids S.I.N. #, special money etc) then not be able to recall where I've hidden it. Then we moved and I rediscovered it, not a help in your situation. And as life will have it, you will have bought the new ones and then you'll come across the originals - hope not! Good Luck and success....See MoreCyber-attack on the east coast
Comments (27)'Dyn said it has not heard from attackers and does not know who they are. "What they're actually doing is moving around the world with each attack," Dyn Chief Strategy Officer Kyle York said in a conference call Friday afternoon. The company's general counsel, Dave Allen, said during the call the company regularly prepares for scenarios like this.' http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2016/10/21/cyber-attack-takes-down-east-coast-netflix-spotify-twitter/92507806/ 'The issue kept some users on the East Coast from accessing Twitter, Spotify, Netflix, Amazon, Tumblr, Reddit, PayPal and other sites.' 'Troubling to security experts was that the attackers relied on Mirai, an easy-to-use program that allows even unskilled hackers to take over online devices and use them to launch DDoS attacks. The software uses malware from phishing emails to first infect a computer or home network, then spreads to everything on it, taking over DVRs, cable set-top boxes, routers and even Internet-connected cameras used by stores and businesses for surveillance. These devices are in turn used to create a robot network, or botnet, to send the millions of messages that knocks the out victims' computer systems. The source code for Mirai was released on the so-called dark web, sites that operate as a sort of online underground for hackers, at the beginning of the month. The release led some security experts to suggest it would soon be widely used by hackers. That appears to have happened in this case. Dyn is getting “tens of millions” of messages from around the globe sent by seemingly harmless but Internet-connected devices. “It could be your DVR, it could be a CCTV camera, a thermostat. I even saw an Internet-connected toaster on Kickstarter yesterday," said York. The complexity and breadth of the multiple attack points makes it difficult to fight, because it's hard to distinguish legitimate traffic from botnet traffic.'...See MoreAshley Smith zone 5a
