Back in the 1920s, built-ins (such as built-in desks) were HUGELY popular. These items were called "Permanent Furniture," and it was thought that this permanent furniture would ease the financial burdens of buying a home. Plus, in the midst of The Bungalow Craze, built-ins addressed the problem of limited space. In the early 1900s, we abandoned the Victorian manses in favor of the bungalow, because of the newly discovered Germ Theory. And yet, those bungalows were pretty small. So funny timing on this because as said a couple years ago, I never fixed the tables, the WE touch up paint was garbage and then my trim paint was a pretty close match which did the job for a while. but I’m actually about to refinish these tables this weekend.... four years later. I since bought a little device that computes paint matches, and determined that the tables are a pretty close match to SW marshmallow or SW shell white. I haven’t used it yet, but the device tends to be accurate so good luck!

The wood is gorgeous in this house. It is so sad when I see this. A ‘designer’ actually told you to paint/whitewash the wood, and I guess you are looking to paint the cabinets white. Wood is very much en Vogue right now, btw.

Oh, I guess I saw the specs for the 6-light. Unfortunately 27.25" is still hanging too low for a 9' ceiling. I should have clarified this is in the center of the room and not over a table or desk. It's close, but I think anything with a height over 20" will be too low for the room.
