BM Linen White, BM Soft Chamois... many to choose from.

I'd put inset blinds on the windows and remove all the artwork.

Make wall, ceiling, and trim all the same warm white. I love Farrow and Ball White Tie. It has beautiful undertones that change throughout the day. It is really stunning. If you don't want to pay the $$$ for FB, I've seen BM Linen White is supposed to be a good match. Get curtains to match the wall color as well. Having all of these colors seamlessly meld together will allow your quilt and art to be the focal points.

I'd get wall mounted plug in sconces for the bedside tables. It will allow more surface space on the night stands. When staging my house for sale, I swapped out the chandelier we were taking with us for a clear bell fixture and ended up really liking it. I think it could work well here too.

Match the metal finish on the sconces, overhead, and curtain rods. Probably nickle.

Thanks, @Jinx! I did wonder about using a medium-dark warm blue (not light blue) on the wall as blue can look wonderful with dark wood furniture. This room needs to be a welcoming guest space but will never be bright thanks to the filtered north-east exposure; artificial light from ceiling and bedside will be key.

I take back my suggestions … your guests may never want to leave! I wouldn’t. 😄

I’d get on IG if you haven’t already, and search English rooms for inspiration — British designers, F&B page, Edward Bulmer, Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful UK, etc.

Someone suggested that the end tables were kind of crowded, but if I read your original post correctly, plus looking at your floor plan, that wall is going to be opened up, correct? If so, you could use slightly larger end tables with lamps. Or as someone suggested, go with wall sconces instead. Your furniture is lovely. I love the quilt! Guests will love this room.

Love the quitl not the drapes or the wall color I think the art is soso I would let the quitly be the star then a color from the quitl for the walls and that same color for the drapes much lighter than the intense colors in the wuilt but the same colors just lighter .A nice throw on the chair in another color from the quilt . I am not loving the rug agoin just fighting the quilt. Maybe so nice fluffy sheep skin rugs on either side instead . I think the lamps are a bit modern fot the space so something with a nice ceramic base about the same height and shade size as yyou have. No art above the headbord I like your bedding and that armoire . I think I would do the walls blue .

I should have mentioned that the rug is going bye-bye (it's just there so my old dog has a cozy spot at night while we camp out in this room temporarily). The chair is also going away: it's not very comfortable, and I want a chair with flared arms or other side features that make it easy to move around as needed (& is maybe a more fun style!).

Yes to Dimity. My bedroom is Dimity and it is the warmest coziest white ever. I give my bedroom to my parents when they come to visit and my Dad, who seems oblivious to design, is always over the moon about what a calming feel there is to the space.

Do not know if this will work while you are staying in the room but it would be great to prime the walls, hang large samplize swatches of color, and live with them for a while. It can be so hard to test neutral colors when your current color is so intense.

When the alcove is gone, the nightstands need to be larger and more substantial. Those are barely large enough for anything but the lamps without hanging over the edge.

I appreciate the comments about the nightstands being crowded and small, but I think I'm stuck with a less than perfect scenario (& even a tiny nightstand is nice for putting a few things; sconce fixtures can make this more practical). I prefer not to put the bed under a window, which leaves 2 options for its placement once the alcove is gone and the door is moved: (1) on its current 13' wall but closer to the window, or (2) on the short wall where the door currently is. The door opening requires ~3' of space plus trim & gap to the corner as well as ~3' of wall for when it is fully open. This makes the available walls much shorter! Back to y'all for creative input!

From what I’ve heard, Farrow & Ball is a tough paint to match, due to various technical factors, but I’ve not tried it myself.

Would love Lori Sawaya (Funcolors) to see this, but can’t seem to tag her.

I have tried to match Farrow and Ball paint with Ben Moore and believe it cannot be done well. There is such a depth of pigmentation to the F&B and it interacts with light so differently - especially with neutral colors. Instead I think it is best to find a Ben Moore existing color that is a close match, use big swatches of it on the wall and see if you like the Ben Moore color.

This link shows Maritime White as the closest match to Diminty. I used Maritime White in my old kitchen and adored the color. Does it look anything like the Dimity in my bedroom? Not at all. Also, you may want to splurge on F&B in just one room. If you are doing a whole home renovation, a gallon of expensive paint won't even be a drop in the bucket.
