jd lt180 versus jd lx280 versus x300
Comments (7)My local JD dealership has alot of used mowers and I'm trying to understand all the different models. The salesman has recently quite and the parts guy is trying to do his job, answer the phones and help people out in the yard. So, he's trying, but not too helpful. I know the differences in the engines and the transmission in the X300, but is the LX 280 just an upgrade from the LT180? The LT does not have cruise control, but everything else appears the same. I do not know about the transmission or the frame size. I was not sure if they were basically the same. My other question was, how does the X300 differ from this two. Same frame, durability, transmission? I previously was trying to determine the difference between the X300 and the LA140, but after reading here I find that it is the frame and engine? The X300 is more durable? I have about an acre to mow, that has somewhat of a grade. I have a walk-out basement, so my sides are not flat. I want a machine that is not overkill, but will also last me a longtime. I cannot spend over $3000.00. So, I have been looking at both used and new. The garden tractors just seem to be out of my range, since I would like to have something with low hours. I only plan to mow and pull a wagon. Comments (14)I didnt get back here last nite! Question first! Ian, is the 1/4 tsp. of yeast really correct, or is that a typo? That sure doesnt seem like much yeast for that much flour, or is that because its used in a starter? Ive never used a starter before! And do you know if it makes any difference to use regular or rapid rise yeast? I happen to have both around here right now. Jennifer, I really cant help with the high altitude question either! When I bake, which really isnt all that often, sometimes I "adjust" the recipe for high altitude and sometimes I dontand Ive really never been able to tell much difference, so mostly I dont anymore! Ive also noticed that when you use a mix, they usually call for a little bit more water and a little bit more flour, and that just doesnt make ANY sense at all to me. A little more of one or the other maybe, but BOTH! Whats up with that! I did find the site below with some good basic high altitude cooking info that might help you since youre so much higher than us "low landers!" Since Ians rolls are made with such a "wet" dough, I think Id try it just the way it is, making sure, as Ian says, that it seems wet enough. Youre 3000' higher, but Im gonna try it just like it is the first time. Happy baking, Skybird...See Moresamsung versus whirlpool versus GE
Comments (2)I see that you just joined today. We all get hit with information overload and find appliance choices overwhelming, confusing and, yes, eventually annoying. There can be a lot of help here, but let me suggest some tips on getting better information here. It helps if you post the specific model numbers in which you are interested. For example, you do know that Whirlpool markets its fridges under its own name, Whirlpool Gold, Kitchenaid, JennAir, Maytag and Amana? You know that all of them are made on the same production line in Amana, Iowa? Also, did you realize that GE, Samsung and Whirlpool have several dozen models of FD fridges between them, all in different sizes and configurations? Samsung, for example, has one model with a 32 cut. ft. capacity, if you need to something that big but which you won't care about if you don't want to spend $3k on a fridge. Also, when there have been recent threads discussing your candidate models, it helps if you mention them and the questions or concerns that weren't answered for you. Have you seen this thread, for example, which has a lot of information and long term usage reports about 22 cu. ft. FD and other bottom freezer models from the Whirlpool corporate family with some commentary about Samsung (all of which are models currently being sold, btw)? http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/appl/msg0814261226855.html If you've tried the gardenweb search engine and are having trouble finding what you need, try going out to Google/Bing/Ask etc. and include "gardenweb" in the search string -- viz. gardenweb + samsung + refrigerator + french door. Comments (19)Our home theater room in our last house was SW Blonde. It is definitely a gold in my house. I had oak furniture, reddish brown leather sofas, and deep rust velvet drapes and they looked great against the walls. The main area it conencted to was SW Believable Buff, which is a tan to me. There was a drastic difference in the color, and no way I was going to mistake the Blonde for a tan. SW Restrained Gold is another color that reads to me as a true gold on interiors, but I considered it for exterior on my house and it read greenish in full unfiltered sunlight....See Morefloral_uk z.8/9 SW UK
