I do as you do. I go for head manipulation as needed.

I also do the home Epley maneuver.

What happens during the home Epley maneuver?
Start by sitting on a bed.
Turn your head 45 degrees to the right.
Quickly lie back, keeping your head turned. ...
Turn your head 90 degrees to the left, without raising it. ...
Turn your head and body another 90 degrees to the left, into the bed. ...
Sit up on the left side.

I find that if I make sure to take really good care not to to tense up that my vertigo is at least manageable. I really think for me it is a problem of my ear balance and when I tense up whatever is going on in my ear gets irritated.

I have Menieres and get vertigo occasionally, I keep Dramamine handy. I also have positional vertigo and I just take care not to do those things that bring that on.

I have it, a recently experienced problem.starting about 6 months ago. It seems to ebb and flow, getting worse and then getting better.

The various maneuvers have not had lasting benefit for me, though I haven't been to a physical therapist and likely do so the next time it flares up. My doctor prescribed the antihistamine Meclizine and I've been taking it. It does seem to help.

As for other ways of dealing with it, I'm careful about my movements. As an example, when in the shower and closing my eyes to shampoo or wash my face, I keep a hand on the wall for stability. For me, dizziness can come when my eyes are closed or when I look down without having a hand on something.

Being on a plane can definitely upset your inner ear.

I take an antihistamine and try to take a nap. That usually resets my problem. I have Meniere's so have triggers. I limit salt and that makes a big difference. Some people take a water pill. The reason why you have vertigo makes a difference. Like Elmer I have to be cautious about moving with my eyes closed. I simply lose where I am in space. I have had this since I was in college.

I have Meniere's also. I keep meclizine (Less Drowsy Dramamine or Bonine) with me at all times. Regular Dramamine is dimenhydrinate which is shorter acting and doesn't seem to work as well.

I take Meclizine when it first comes on.

I've only had it once. It happened when I got up after awakening in the morning. It scared me, thought I was having a stroke.

I had it with sudden onset and severe, nauseau inducing. I did the Epley and it helped some, but it wasn't until I did the Foster that it really went away. I've had it once since and did the Foster right away and it was gone. Unfortunately, not everyone can do the Foster, but if you can, I highly recommend it.

DH has had some dizziness and his Dr recommended neck exercises and moving his head around more and moving his eyes around more.

I had vertigo years ago. I found out mine was triggered from cold air. As long as my ears are covered and warm during the winter I'm fine.
