I don't know what changed my mind, bc I felt this one was too school-house looking at first. But I made a couple mockups and just felt like this one went better. IDK lol, I'm making it up as I go haha. I also got the flush mount for over our sink. I went with the brass too to mix it up and am using brushed brass hardware on my island. Faucet is chrome. Everything else is ORB- perimeter cabinet hardware and doorknobs, etc. One thing I didn't realize is the metal rod is only like 1-foot long and the rest is a gold rope. Look at the picture of the canopy closely and you will see. I'm hoping it doesn't look stupid bc I'm keeping them. They were on sale several months ago but haven't been since. Thanks for your suggestions… actually, just to clarify, the rug is just temporary until I get settled and purchase one for this room. I’m mostly still unpacking boxes and the previous owners tied the chandelier “up” to keep it out of the way while movers were here and I have not dropped it for the same reasons. It’s a small condominium but I may have to move the cabinet… not sure to where. Thank you for your input.

Call and electrician see if he can add an electrical box there. Im not sure the table was meant to be here, but later it could always be converted to another recessed light or wafer LED. If not look into a much larger taller arch lamp that will reach over the table.

Because I still don't understand the space below I will have to wait for more pictures to answer about wood slats. I'd need to see the colors of the floors, the doors... the rails. I will say that that ray of light on that wall seems intentional and needed in a potentially dark stairway. You would change that concept with light absorbing wood slats. Where's the architect?
