I am experimenting!! lol
Comments (20)Marjie, Right! I don't know how tall a potted pineapple, grown indoors gets, but those at the conservatory, 'in-ground,' and a group sold at Home Depot, 'potted' were tall...Too tall for a shelf.. Their tops were so large and heavy the pots kept tipping over. This happened when I worked there. Don't know how many times I picked them up. The only other time HD had pineapples, 'I quit,' they were individually placed in clear plastic bags. Plastic helped, but leaf weight still knocked them down. Eventually, someone stacked every pineapple between shelves, but leaves were bent over. Shelf tiers would need be adjustable to fit taller plants. Good luck in your quest.. :) Purple, as soon as I clicked submit, I thought, oh oh. When I said you/yourself, (experiement) I meant you, 'not you, Purple,' in general... Not you, you, but anyone you..lol Speaking of experimenting...maybe too much in my younger days...lol. j/k of course! Don't know if they're still around, but do you remember Cordyline/Ti plant logs? Two logs came in a plastic bag, for, ahem, 1.00!!! Logs were rooted in water. Hopefully your Cordy remains in good health. I have NO idea how Sans can be rooted in water. That'd be more difficult than rooting Hoya cuttings. I didn't see the thread on the Sans Forum, but heard others talk, in older threads, about rooting Sans in water. Well, I'll be! I buy the 15 bean soup beans for my birds. lol. Never tried rooting a bean, but it'd be an interesting 'experiment.' For the birds sake. Flavor packets contain too much salt..birds could get sick or worse if they injest too much. So it goes in the trash. Same with bird seed. If they sprout, seeds are fresh, if not, more than likely they're old and stale. How do you root carrots in water? Purple, sweet potatoes are sprayed with a retardant which prevents growth. I remember reading this topic on a book called Starting from Scratch. So, I went to the store, bought a couple sweet potatoes, and sure enough..nothing, nada. BTW, I bought sp's at different stores with the same results. The only SP's I now grow are Ornamental types. lol. Toni...See MoreI'm pulling my hair out!! Mattress Q again!
Comments (3)Well I ended up going out today and buying a mattress, I've had it with the couch and delaying fixing the bed-- this forces it to be done so I went with the Temp Cloud Supreme. I just tossed a S&F-one of the ones you might be talking about. Beautyrest has their new "black" line, so S&F is revamping their line too now. To be honest, I've never seen or slept on a Kingsdown, I think that is the manufacturer for EA beds. (my buddy at EA says they won't work for a platform, you need the box spring to make it work. (Worse case I can return or exchange the Temp. The "heavenly Bed," I used to layover at all the Westins when UA owned them. They are ok, but you can load up your own bed to make it like that. I used to have a nice pillow top something when first out of college, then a thick featherbed from ScandiaDown, then NICE sheets, and a down quilt and pillows also from Scandia. I slept on that forever until my dog (no longer alive ) got sick and peed all over it. I think from that point forward, I have had trouble with mattresses. :( plus during that time I flew all over the world and started my career of jet lag ........... I am HOPING this one might work. and I sleep cold, husband does sleep hot, but always has to have a fan blowing on him year round - so he has to adjust. My sleep is more important. He can sleep on a brick uneven floor. He falls asleep in a minute no matter where and on whatever . HATE THAT SOOOO JEALOUS. I need ambien (doc prescribes it for you medical folks) every night for the last 20 yrs. (literally, my job has messed me up, at least I had 8 yrs of good sleeping with my line of work before the issues kicked in!,those were the days......bed is coming on Sunday, I'll keep you posted. I'll most likely still stay on the couch and air it out for a bit LOL!! (smell) I've had latex pillows before, they stink too. (smell) I did toss those, I can't ever change from down pillows!...See MoreBack to the Drawing Board - Pulling our hair out
Comments (31)josey11 if you just google allison ramsey bermuda bluff 2313 that specific plan will show up we made a couple of changes took out the door between kitchen and entry (replaced it with a desk in the kitchen) took 6 or 8 inches out of the back of the coat closet and made a can pantry in the kitchen (in addition to the pantry already there) put hooks in the coast closet two rows of them and they are good for coats umbrellas, caps/hats etc we really like that took out the fireplace (we live south of houston texas don't really need a fireplace now we have lots of room for a freezer in the store room my main concerns were if the gr would feel small with chairs sofas and dining room furniture.. and it does not we have a 48 in round dining table with three leaves and we used all of those for the holidays and we have 3 big men's recliners and a large leather chair with ottoman and a really big sofa in there and it's not too crowdedwe have quite a bit of storage upstairs in the attic spaces and lots in the store room i have empty shelves everywhere our island is almost double the size of the one in the plan......See MorePlease help with layout, pulling hair out.
Comments (34)Yes Macswim that's soapstone. I don't know the name of it, just some scrapes that I cobbled together to make my beloved, fantastic sinked vanity/counter, and tub cabinet counter. The only piece that was greater than 13" wide, was the bottom of the sink, and that pieces was about 20x30". My sink is 18x18" outer dimension, square. The counter that shows in the bathtub pic, is actually 2, 12-13" strips, epoxied together to make the counter which is 22" wide and about 32" deep (front of cabinet to the rear). Soapstone is incredibly easy to work, if you are at all handy, and have the time and inclination....See Morekl23
