using 2 wall colors where rooms flow together
Comments (5)Thanks for your response, Parma. Yes, the green would start in the corner to the left of the slider (behind the hutch) and carry around the 3 walls of the kitchen. There really isn't that much wall space in the kitchen itself and lots of white tile and appliances. Wish I could do something about the funky oak cabinets, but that's for another day and a different budget. :) I'm inclined to agree with you about not doing that narrrow, tall piece of wall with the cat picture....See MoreCan I use the same paint color in 2 rooms?
Comments (24)Oops. I'm only just seeing this. The paint color is Benjamin Moore's Smoke. I use Aura paint, which is full spectrum. I think colors look great with full spectrum paint. :) The dining room is more of a nook in an open condo. The left side is where the front door and coat closet are. The right side is where you enter the kitchen (there is a bar there, too). Most of my neighbors have a tiny table and two chairs in the space, but one uses it for a desk...it's really a pass through. The chairs were custom made. They were an insane splurge about three years ago, before those chairs were everywhere. My options were a Ballard Designs chair that I didn't feel comfortable buying sight unseen, and similar chairs by Bernhardt, Z Gallerie, and Baker. I had a picture of the fabric I wanted in my head (cream, geometric stitching with a slight sheen), so I wound up having the chairs made. It wasn't any more expensive than the Bernhardt chairs would have been. You can see more of my place on my blog. Just click my username. There's a show stopper in the living room. I'll let you find it. :)...See MorePaint color: Accent wall in 2 story great room
Comments (12)That color your friend suggested is very pretty. You could certainly try that. Since you mention your furniture is reddish this might be a better option than a rust red wall, but I can't really say. You should choose a color that really appeals to you. Is there a certain color that shows up often in your wardrobe? That might be something to consider. You should certainly start out with doing just the wall and see how that looks. If you feel happy with that don't go any further. This is your home and you have to love it. Don't worry about accessorizing. Even just a few pillows and a throw can make that color look integrated. You can always visit here again and get advice after the wall is painted. I can't wait to see the result!...See MoreWhat color to paint decorative wall in Cathedral Ceiling Living Room?
Comments (10)I can’t say I’m a big fan of that wall. It’s always hard when someone takes a random wall out of the middle of the house and finishes it differently from all the others (if it was good enough for one wall, why wasn’t it good enough for the other three?) also, the style doesn’t relate to the style of the doors (other than matching in color, thankfully). So, I think my inclination would be to paint it out, either to match the brick or the other walls (probably, I’d go with the brick). However, I’m curious to hear what others might think....See MoreT Price
